Creating a Style Sanctuary Oasis
This post is sponsored by Wayfair.
When I go to bed at night, that is my time to rest. Rest from the busyness of the day. Rest from the chores that beckon. Rest from physically caring for our daughter (until she sneakily wakes me up, which honestly is so cute at times). Rest until the morning birds call.
I once heard it said that the least messy room in your house should be your bedroom because it is the place you can step away from the mess and get the mental, emotional, and physical break and rest we all need. I didn’t quite understand that thought process until my room got incredibly messy and it wasn’t relaxing to walk into. Since then, I try my best to keep my husband and I’s bedroom free from clutter, keep it organized, and simply simple. Creating it into a place of refuge, refreshment, and rest, has taken me awhile, I’ll admit. I’m not quick to buy something just because – I want to have a purpose and meaning for it. Everything in our home, I want to have an answer to, if asked why I have it.
Our bedroom has taken some time to revamp, not because I haven’t wanted to spruce it up, but I just haven’t had the time nor the eye to know what to style it with. Then thanks to Wayfair, I had the opportunity to add some charm to our bedroom and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! If I’m honest, I could’ve gone crazy with all of the options and ideas that I wanted to add to this space, but I refrained and I realized it helped me keep it simple, which is my style. Sometimes spaces can get so cluttered, that the simple beauty of the room is lost in the chaos. For me, my philosophy is this: LESS IS MORE.
These simple changes as you can see, made all the difference for this room!
Here’s the before. Trust me, it’s nothing to gawk at. Bland. Simple indeed, but lacks the eye appeal. For pete’s sake, I have an old sauder book case as my nightstand. Though the bedspread I’m okay with, but wanted something more fresh looking.
No nightstand and this is what my husband’s side ends up looking like:
And here’s our new “Style Sanctuary”. This sign represents so much in our life. We had the song “Walk by Faith” by Jeremy Camp, sung at our wedding, and little did we know that this would be a testament and proclamation often spoken, thought, and trustfully believing in our life! This was one of those “I know it when I see it” type of home décor pieces, from none other than Wayfair!
I’m all about some flowers! That little touch can add so much simple beauty!
And let me tell you about these nightstands. It is HARD to find a nightstand that is small enough to fit along side the bed (ours is a very small space), but also not jet out so far that your hip will hit it when you get out of bed. These nightstands from Wayfair were PERFECT – simple and elegant.
I am loving how all of this turned out! The white bedspread is also from Wayfair, and you can check out all of their comforter sets on their website.
Love your new comforter! Looks like such an inviting space!
Thank you, Andi!
