If it wasn’t for the bathroom, I feel my need to clean would be much less. Do you ever feel that way? Every week, I am sometimes shocked at how dirty our bathroom gets. Each week, I do my weekly chores, yet I realize I do neglect some very important spaces and places, such as decluttering my cupboards and wiping down the tile that is halfway up each wall.
Then again, I realize that really, because the bathroom is the dirtiest room in the house each week, I usually get every nook and cranny, if I can, which means less spring cleaning that needs to be done!
I am still going to spring clean this room because like any room, it could always use a good washin’.
Here are a few tips to make sure your bathroom has that perfect shine (for at least a little while…)
1. Clean tub, drain, fixtures, and declutter
2. Clean toilet inside and out (disinfecting)
3. Wipe down pipes behind toilet
4. Clean sink and drain – including sink pipes
5. Take everything out of cabinets and get rid of the unwanted and unused
6. Check for expired medication
7. Wipe out cabinets and drawers
8. Wash mirror – removing all hairspray stains
9. Wash sink and faucet
10. Wipe down window sills, windows, and lightbulb fixtures
11. Clean window screens
12. Wash walls, light plates, door, and door knobs
13. Mop floors (scrub if you have to)
14. Restock where needed (medication, toilet paper, etc.)
15. Fix or write down what needs to be fixed on the “fix-it” list.
Many of the cleaning ideas listed above, you may already do each week. The bathroom sees a lot of activity, so make sure you clean and disinfect the best you can!
