What shape is your bedroom in?
- Cluttered?
- A disaster?
- Everything BUT peaceful?
- Do you even struggle to fall asleep at night because walking into your room, creates more MIND clutter?
What do you want your bedroom to look like? To feel like? Do you want it to be a place of peace, calmness, and relaxation?
Is there even a solution to this to this chaos? Where to even begin?
The solution can be found in spring cleaning your bedroom.
Here are a few tips and ideas to do just that:
1. Write down what you want your room to look and feel like.
2. Take everything out of your drawers and closets; wipe them down, and then…
3. Declutter and organize. Decluttering and purging the unused, is THE most important thing you can do for your room, to make it a place of peace and calm. Creating order in your bedroom, influences the clutter in your mind too – don’t let your bedroom be a cause of it. Go through all of your clothes and decide if you actually wear them all!
4. Wash all of your bedding, including your mattress pad, pillows, and bed skirt. Don’t forget to rotate your mattress!
5. Dust all of your baseboards and furniture.
6. Wash/wipe down:
- walls
- doors
- doorknobs
- ceiling fans
- light bulbs
- vent covers
- light switch plates
7. Wash curtains, window treatments, and window sills
8. Move furniture and vacuum or wash floors
9. Write down what needs to be fixed on fix-it list
10. Enjoy a good night’s rest!
Hopefully the day after you spring clean your bedroom, that all of that hardwork will have paid off with a good night’s sleep, with a mind cleared, and even more so, a bedroom CLEARED!
What annoys you the most about your bedroom?
Great tips! I have no problems keeping my room clean but my daughters' rooms… oh my, what a lot of work! This list should help.
Thanks!
