The Rest Of The Story
The song “Blessed Be Your Name” has been a theme song for Dan and I for a few years now. This is a song that we blare when it comes on the radio and sing it at the top of our lungs. Yes, we are those “sing in the car” people. This song has been an incredible comfort for us in this last year as we went through all the ups and downs.
Yesterday was filled with the biggest up and down of our lives. Obviously the UP being finding out Brenda is PREGNANT (sorry, still love saying that!).
But…
Hours earlier, Dan found out he was let go from his job.
Never in our minds would we have thought that yesterday would’ve looked as it did. Only God knew, but nothing surprises Him. He knew the exact minutes of the day. He knew we would have an ultimate low in our day and then an ultimate high. Honestly, who gets let go and then finds out their gestational carrier is having their baby(ies) in one day? Only God can orchestrate that one!
We are running on such mixed emotions, but we are not going to let the unemployment overshadow the ultimate high of having our own children. We truly feel so blessed to be where we are today. Yesterday when we were going home from finding out about Brenda being pregnant, God reminded me of the verse that says “rejoice in the Lord always; again, I say rejoice.”
Rejoice in the new chapter of life God is giving us. Rejoice that God is in ultimate control when our world feels like it is getting turned upside down. Rejoice because Brenda is pregnant with our children. JUST REJOICE. No matter what the circumstance.
It has been hard. Yesterday we didn’t know what to feel. We didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, or both. God has something else in store for us and what that is, we don’t know. But we live in His promises once again, that He is THE Provider. He is THE Comforter. He is THE Giver of Life. He is THE Sovereign Lord. When everything else is out of control, God is not – He is constant and consistent.
As for the “letting go” – there have been some differences of opinions and disagreements amongst us and the church leadership with regards to biblical discernment. This is the jist of it. If you have questions, please feel free to email me. But I will talk more about it in the future. We are just still processing what is all going on.
The Lord has given us life. The Lord has also taken away a job, but BLESSED BE YOUR NAME! This song brings so much comfort to us! Every line. Please read each line – let it remind you of God’s goodness, no matter what the circumstance.
Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of
abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
Blessed Be Your name
When I’m
found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be
Your name
Every blessing You pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be Your name
When the sun’s shining down on me
When the world’s ‘all as it should be’
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
Every blessing You pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
That is one of my favorite songs too. I pray that you will continue to have peace through all of this. I hope we can get together soon for Chivo's pizza and a good talk.
