Dan and I had some time to ourselves Saturday night and we knew it was time to explore Minnesota.
Where to begin? One place that kept coming up was Redwood County Road 15. We have driven it before, but it was calling our names again – this time with leaves on the trees.
We enjoy taking drives together because it gives us time to just “be”, but also time to talk about everything under the sun – that is exactly what we did. We feel this is one of the most beautiful drives in our area – so country, so open, so breath-taking. Here are just a few more pictures of yet another gorgeous drive down 15.
If you live in Minnesota, these are the road signs you need to look for
Looks like we are in another country!
We never get sick of looking at old red barns and old farmhouses along the way
It is almost a completely gravel road and you rarely run into other vehicles. Though I suppose I should keep this secret quiet so that we continue to NOT run into other vehicles!
Off the even more beaten path, are bridges such as this one
A cow wandering through the little creek – picturesque, eh?
Seed corn company with sporting beautiful barns
One of the historical markers along the way – an old burned-down house that dates back to the Dakota-Indian wars
Minnesotans don’t waste any hay – which I agree with – they even bale the roadside way!
We finished the night off at Chumly’s in Redwood Falls. Driving up I was a little uncertain about this place, but it was great! Great food to end a great night.
If you ever are out in Minnesota or come and visit, if you desire, we will be sure to take you here. It’s about a 45 minute drive south of where we live, but time completely escapes you as you drive out there.
