Email clutter.
You are probably thinking, “here we go again, another thing to declutter!” Why yes, you are exactly right! Email clutter is something that honestly drives me crazy. When I see a full inbox, that screams to me that I need to do something with them, whether it is to reply or delete. For some reason, a cluttered inbox reminds me of the emails I haven’t dealt with, and need to.
That is why I have found the UNSUBSCRIBE button to be a such a time-saver! How often do you buy something from the internet and automatically receive an email from that company every day? How often do you receive junk mail,or emails from a company that you have no affiliation with? Ever wonder how in the world they got your email address in the first place?
The easy thing to do is just put a checkmark in that box and hit the trash or delete button. Really though, that just puts a band-aid on the situation because tomorrow you are going to have to do the same thing. The same routine. Over and over and over.
After I was receiving so many unnecessary emails, I decided it was time to start unsubscribing from all of the companies that I did not care to receive emails from.
By taking the time to UNSUBSCRIBE, it will not only save you the time of opening up the email, but also money because you won’t be lured to buy what they are advertising. That is their whole goal, right? To bombard with you all of these “deals” so that you just can’t say no. So by unsubscribing, you not only save time, but money too.
In order to unsubscribe, open the email and look in the top right corner or scroll to the bottom of the email. You may have to read the fine print, but you will find an “unsubscribe” option. Click on it and follow the process. It may take a minute to complete the process, but it will save you oodles of time in the end because you won’t be scrolling through an email from a company that you have no intention buying from.
Another way to prevent unnecessary emails coming your way is to put the correct filters on your email. If you go into your email settings, there is often an option to block emails from a certain address. Though, I would still recommend unsubscribing because spammers seem to find other ways to get around blocks. Like use a different address. Trust me, they are sneaky!
If you are getting sick of the email clutter, take the time to unsubscribe because it will be well worth your time and money in the end!
