If you are at all into homemaking or home remedies, vinegar is probably at the top of your list. It seems as if there are new ideas on how to use vinegar every day. It almost gets overwhelming and therefore hard to remember all of its wonderful uses. In fact, you may have bought a huge jug of vinegar, but forgot all of the ways that you can use it. Here are a few tips to solve that problem.
10 Simple Uses for White Vinegar
1. Get rid of mildew – anywhere in the house. Mix equal parts water and vinegar. For heavy duty mildew, use vinegar in its full force.
2. Get rid of pen marks on walls, by using full-strength vinegar on a rag, and dabbing it on the spot.
3. For all the northerners out there, get rid of salt marks off your shoes or boots by dipping a cloth in undiluted vinegar and wipe clean.
4. Get rid of gooey residue from paint, your car (bumper stickers) or any glossy surface by pouring it on sides of sticker or price tag. Let it set and then wipe it off.
5. Prevent frost! Use 3 parts white vinegar to 1 part water and spray on window.
6. Make an all-purpose cleaner – use 2 parts water to 1 part white vinegar (you can add a couple drops of dishwashing soap for extra freshness and cleaning power).
7. Prevent stinky hands! Rub vinegar on your hands before and after you use onion, garlic, fish, or anything with a strong smell.
8. Relief! If you have a nasty bug bite (mosquito) or a good ole sunburn, apply vinegar to a cloth and dab it on the affected area.
9. Grout whitener – use a toothbrush dipped in undiluted vinegar and scrub away!
10. Laundry – add 1 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle to soften your clothes and brighten up whites.
