We Found A Vehicle!
So the saying that “God’s timing is perfect” once again proves so true (as always…never fails).
Last night Dan and I were talking about our desires to just FIND a vehicle. To be honest, we were getting very discouraged and thought we would have to put way more money towards a vehicle than what we had wanted to. Last night we spent quite some time on the internet, trying to find every website we could, that would have vehicles for sale. We had found a couple “maybes,” but just were a little uneasy about them b/c either they had way more miles than what we wanted or more money.
Then we found one at a dealer in Grandville. I quick sent the general email to notify them that I was interested. It was a 2002 Ford Explorer, brownish/gray (I know, weird color, but it’s true), 99,000 miles, 4×4, 3rd row seat. AND under the price we wanted to pay. Sure enough, at 8:18am, I had an email from the internet sales guy that said it was still available. I sent the link to Dan, went for a run, got home to Dan leaving a message that we should go check it out PRONTO. In about 20 minutes we were in the car on our way up to Grandville.
Thought it was December b/c it was snowing so hard, but I tell ya, it just added to the experience.
We saw it and from the outside, she was beautiful (if a car can be). It was exactly what we were looking for. Took it for a test drive and boy did that vehicle purrrrrr. We were SO EXCITED! Got back to the dealer told him “lets talk.” And…we drove away with a new vehicle. YEAH!!!!
Yes it may sound like we just won the lottery, but nope, it’s just God providing for us at the PERFECT time! Last night we were frustrated. With what we wanted to spend and the mileage we wanted, we just didn’t think we would get what we had desired. We prayed and prayed, and God provided (again, as if we should be surprised). As we were driving home, we just kept thinking, “this just couldn’t be more perfect.” The vehicle is not anything less or nothing more. Some we were looking at were just too much – it was more than we needed. Not that we are obsessed with our vehicles – we aren’t. It’s just that whatever we have, we want it to reflect us and who we are. We knew the Ford Explorer fit us and we just felt that that is what would be best to get, after ours got demolished.
God’s timing IS perfect – He didn’t let us get too discouraged – just enough so that we would have to fully rely on Him. And thanks to my PARENTS for allowing us to borrow their vehicle for over a month! What a blessing that was!
Side Note: The sales guy had asked us basically why the Explorer…we told him the jist of our tornado story and boy that story spread like wildfire! We sometimes forget about the severity of the situation we were in because we lived in it. But after rehashing it all, we realized again, how blessed we are to be alive and to be where we are today. And we just hope God continues to use that happening to further His own glory.
So please praise God with us today, in thanksgiving for His provision and perfect timing.
