We (Heart) Visitors
This past week we had the joys of having family in town! My cousin Julie, her husband Justin, along with their two kids Emerson and Beckett, made the trek to Minnesota Tuesday! We were looking so forward to having them here because it had been since Christmas when we saw them last. There is also something about being able to sit down, have a deep conversation and just catch up on life, which can be hard to do solely at family gatherings.
Dan is teaching the kids how to play Ant Smashers – definitely was hit!
LOVE it that Beckett came in his Minnesota gear! Justin is from Minnesota (they had a family reunion to attend this weekend south of us, so it was perfect!)
After the rain cleared on Wednesday, we headed to Redwood Falls – we apparently forgot about the stairs – not so easy to do with a stroller!
The last time we were there, there were not any leaves on the trees – quite a different site! AND BEAUTIFUL!
Justin and Emerson
Julie and I – I so appreciate her! She has and is SUCH a good friend (not only family). We grew up quite close to each other – our dads own the farm together. Wednesday night we went up to St. Cloud to go shopping for a little while – always a fun place to go because there sure are a whole lot more people up there! Justin, Julie, Emerson, and Beckett were so much fun to have around for a few days! The time together seemed to absolutely fly, but that’s what happens when you’re having a blast!
We always love having family and friends come! Granted our town is not huge and there isn’t a ton to do around us, but sometimes just soaking in the beauty of God’s creation is good enough for us!
We continue to enjoy our time here in Minnesota! Part of us is excited for winter – to experience a full winter here. Granted we came when there was still a LOT of snow here, but we are excited to experience the seasons here as well. Until then, we will continue to fish, take many walks outside (oh wait, that doesn’t stop for the Sterks even in the winter), and just enjoy the Minnesota sun!
