Take a look around your home. If it takes getting up from you computer desk or putting your computer down, go for it! Walk around your home and see what is gathering dust. Make a mental note or even write down those things that are getting an extra layer of “protection”.
What do you think that dust is telling you?
Dust actually can say a lot about a home! I completely understand that everyone has a different level of “clean”. In fact, do I dust every week? I do not – especially in the winter. In the summer, with all of the windows open and the Minnesotan winds, our house gets pretty dusty, so I try to dust once a week then. In the winter though, I do not and you know what? It doesn’t need to be! Yet when I see dust starting to gather, I know it is high time!
What is YOUR dust telling you? Here are a few things it might be saying:
1. You may have too much in your home going unused. What is causing clutter in your home? When you pull something off a shelf, do you ever wonder why you have that certain item? Or even wonder why you keep it? If too many things are going unused, consider decluttering so that your cleaning job will be that much easier!
2. Do you have to clean more often? Does the thought of cleaning make you absolutely shutter? I get that. I have found though, that having the right cleaning supplies actually makes a huge difference. That is why I switched over to using all
Norwex products because they reduce the use of chemicals in your home and honestly save you time and money! I have been using them for awhile now and they do not show any sign of wear and tear and boy do they get the job done! I actually semi-enjoy dusting because the
products actually work!
3. You may own TOO much to keep up on. Do you have too much space? Do you have more home than you need? Do you have things that have no value to you? Owning too much and even having too much space, can cause that dust to collect all too quickly!
So think again. Take a look around your home. For me, dust reminds me of how much I do not need. Dust reminds me of the things I no longer need. And it tells me what places I have neglected to clean.
I have allergies so dust is an issue for me. When I'm shopping I ask myself if the item wil collect dust and if it will be easy to clean. That keeps a lot of unnecessary
Items from coming in.
My husband is allergic to heavy amounts of dust, so I LOVE what you said about shopping for "more" – will it be easy to clean? What a great way to prevent clutter!
My dust is telling me that I live on a farm and have an indoor dog! LOL But I recently came to the realization that I don't use (or NEED) half of what I own. Time to make some donation piles.
