Why YOU Should Live An Organized Life
I {heart} talking about organizing.
Some women like to talk about fashion. Some women talk about the latest beauty product. I talk about simplifying and organizing. When someone comes up to me and talks about how they are trying to get their life organized, I get all fired up. My heart starts to race as I listen to how someone is describing their process, telling me their wishes and dreams, for this “space” that they can only dream of being organized. Then they ask…”I just don’t know where to start…”
Is it worth it? Is it worth the time that it will take? Is it worth the effort? Is it worth the stress?
IT IS WORTH EVERY MINUTE!
Living an organized life means:
1. Less stress. Life is filled with enough stressors. What if you were able to walk into your home and feel a sense of calm and peace as you sit in an organized home. Imagine not having to come home to a pile of papers? Imagine not putting a box away without having 5 others fall out in the meantime? Having an organized life means more emotional and mental time for the things that are most important to you. Not to mention, less stress means a healthier life – no racing heartrates, no headaches, and no extra meds to counteract the stress.
2. Save dollars. Knowing what you have is one of the biggest perks of being organized. When you know what you have, you won’t (or shouldn’t) buy what you don’t need. For example, when your wardrobe is organized, when you go shopping, you know exactly what you need and what it will go with. This will prevent you from buying doubles and storing than you will ever need.
3. Being an example. Have you ever walked into someone else’s house and wish your house looked like theirs? It is easy to have house envy – but how often do we not look at our OWN house and think about the changes we can make to make our house our HOME? What if YOUR home was the example that people looked at – a life of simplicity. You are also setting an example for your children – for how they will set up their home someday.
4. More time for what you really want to do in life. Believe it or not, even though taking time to organize may seem like you are spending MORE time doing what you don’t want, in the end, you will be saving time. How often do you spend time looking for something that you don’t have a clue where you put it? How often do you spend time putting away things that you have way too much of? Being organized saves times in way that you will not realize until you start the process.
5. Peace. A quiet life. A simple life. It is a hard-to-explain feeling, but living an organized life brings a sense of peace not only for yourself, but for your family.
Living an organized life leads to a life of simplicity. Simplicity is a quality that is becoming more and more desired these days – do you feel your life is organized and simplified? If not, what changes do you need to make? It took going on a mission trip to a 3rd world country for me to realize that I am not living the life I want to and the life I should be living. What will it take for you to make changes?
What benefits do you feel are the benefits to living an organized life?
