5 Favorite Things on Friday – Edition #12
This week’s Friday Favs is brought to you by my friend Stephanie! She, like us, does not have cable or satellite TV, so YouTube and kids apps are uber doober helpful when your child may need some down time. Though what’s sometimes difficult is finding a wholesome show. Well, my friend Stephanie has shared with me, her 5 favorite YouTube stations for toddlers and pre-schoolers. Her son, Matthias, LOVES these shows, so she was generous enough to share her favs with all of us too, along with a little description of each. I couldn’t have said it better myself, so I left her description in each. Check ’em out!
Listener kids: it’s all old-school Sunday school songs re-done with great videos. Matthias especially loves the Jesus Loves Me and This Little Light Of Mine song.
The Rizers: This is also a music channel. All their songs are Scripture put to music with awesome cartoon videos. These are also good for probably up to 9-10 years olds.
Shaun the Sheep: This is actually a British show. Awesome humour that adults even like, but Matthias loves all the animals and tractors etc. It’s clean, but one disclaimer, some episodes may be a bit scary for some children. Matthias just loves it though. He says “ba ba ba” and points at the TV several times a day!
The Berenstain Bears: Fun, wholesome, good life lessons, entertaining!!
Little Baby Bum: Another British show! So great, clean, fun, teaches kids alphabet, numbers, nursery rhymes, fun songs, shapes, colours etc.
Mazy has now watched all of these and I would agree, this is a really solid list! Mazy also likes the one free episode of Paw Patrol that you can watch without cable, Bob The Train, and Peppa Pig. Not the biggest fan of Peppa, but thankfully she is into other YouTube videos as well. We’ve also watched Hermie by Max Lucado in the past as well.
Just some fun ideas if you are looking for something new! Thank you Stephanie for this GREAT list! Especially if you are looking for something outside of PBS. Though I must say, PBS is AWESOME! Loved it as a kid and still love it now!
What are your child’s favorite shows or YouTube channels?
If you have 5 favorite things that you’d like to share, let me know! I’d love to do a post about them!
