We are feeling as if the weeks are flying by, but I think it’s because we are forced to live day by day. With an impending major surgery on the horizon, we are trying to capitalize on everything, such as time to do projects, the nice weather to do things as a family, and time to just be too.
I have been on a day-to-day phone call routine with the University of Michigan, adjusting my meds as needed. If I think about it too much, I get overwhelmed, but then I remember the days of going through IVF and how meds changed daily, and really it is no different. My body sometimes tells me that it’s had enough, but that’s when I’m thankful to only have one child and to have a husband, family, and friends who are always there. Really, we are doing extremely well. We are LOVING life, LOVING our town, and LOVING being parents! Here’s a glimpse at our past week:
With warmer weather on the horizon, Mazy was getting ready to jump in the pool again, even if it was with an over-sized mask and a too-small life jacket!
On Saturday night, we had a CLUE dinner that we went to with our church. The attire was the 1920s, and though I didn’t have anything that resembled anything of the sorts, thankfully I could piece together something, thanks to my sisters! And Dan, well, he looks like he’s straight from that era!
We were going to close the pool, but decided against it and clearly Mazy was thrilled to have it open as well! 
I had a tougher week health-wise, hence my lifetime supply of potassium that was ordered for me, but nevertheless, it is doing the job!
On Friday, Mazy and I visited my sister and her girls at Tri-Ponds Campground for the morning! It was a BEAUTIFUL day, the pool was 85, and the girls had a blast! Mazy was all over the deep end and loving the time she had with her cousins, who really are like sisters to her!
They were able to walk and feed goats at the campground, which was an interesting experience!
Needless to say, Mazy was pretty much toast by the end of the day!
Oh Mazy and her naps! She honestly does just fine without one, though she does need them at random. Well, it goes without saying that when she feels she doesn’t need one, she finds PLENTY to do! She finds everything from her bathing suits, swim diapers, pens, books, dirty clothes, and empties about everything possible. Quite a site, but warms my heart to know she can use her imagination and make her own fun too!
Thanks to Mazy’s last second year molar coming in, she had a hard time going to bed at night. Daddy definitely made her feel loved and helped her quiet down, even if it was 10 at night, by watching her favorite shows with her. With them both, having stuffed animals tucked under their arms.
On Wednesday, there was a free carnival at the park just down the street, and after a tearful goodbye and seeing daddy leaving to go to Cadets, those tears were quickly wiped away thanks to face painting, a bouncy house, and crafts! And it was just down our street!
Mazy thought that her pool toys needed to come in the bathtub one night. It goes without saying that zebra didn’t last long in the bubbles because she didn’t fit AT ALL in the tub with him!
On Tuesday, I met a dear friend in South Haven, with our kiddos! It was another gorgeous day, but even more so, the time we had to catch up was so wonderful!
Surgery Update: The doctors are working on moving my surgery up to the end of October, but much has to be figured out and reconfigured before doing so. I’ve learned, it’s not just an easy “plop Kristin into the schedule” deal. Much goes into it, so we are patiently waiting to hear what they are able to come up with. We are very eager to move past this and I cannot wait to live what they call a “normal” life. I still can’t fathom! It’s hard to not be able to take Mazy on long walks, but that time will come. When she wants me to carry her and to have to tell her no sometimes, is hard, but the time will come when I don’t have to even think twice about it. There is an end in sight, which we could not be more thankful for! Many cannot see an end in sight with their diagnosis. We have much to be thankful for! And the support we have already received is just astounding. Thank you to all those who are praying, have asked how they can help, and have blessed us in many ways already! How beautiful it is to be a part of the family of God!
