Exploring Minnesota – New Ulm
Yesterday I shared that I will have an ICD (internal defibrillator) put in place in the next few weeks. I know that as the patient, I understand all the medical terminology of heart failure (most of the time), but I realize that sometimes it’s kind of hard to picture or understand what in the world I’m talking about. So, let me explain a bit more where I’m at.
My excitement was maybe a little premature. One night as Dan and I were heading to bed, he asked me if I wanted my house coat (feel free to laugh, I call my robe my house coat) set out by the door for WHEN (not IF) Mazy woke up. I said no. To his surprise,…
Michigan and Minnesota are very similar. Yet, they have their differences. One of the differences we LOVE: it is ALWAYS SUNNY – unless there is a snowstorm coming in. I think we have had one cloudy day since moving here (it was raining). I’ve heard people say that Michigan is depressing in the winter and I never really…
We all have those “it” moments in our life. Situations that happen, when we least expect them to. That “it” changes our life course and we can’t help but sit and wonder, what’s next? Plus, what are we supposed to do with situations we don’t expect? Like everyone in life, we too have had many…
Boy, our life has been pretty boring since the beginning of the summer! Even though we have had so much fun this summer, we are thankful for this time of rest before the youth group year starts up again in full-force. So what have we been doing? NOT MUCH. Every Monday we have Open Rock,…
Baby showers are such joyous occasions! Whether it be in planning them, attending them, or being the very person the shower is for, baby showers are unique ways to bless everyone involved. Especially the mama-to-be. Plus, I personally think they are enjoyable to plan. One of the trickiest parts of a shower is deciding who…

Kristin!! I would totally go to New Ulm this summer with you! I love looking at the historical sites around the area! 🙂 You should head to Montevideo sometime and check out the Pioneer village! But go this summer, when you can walk around! Then the boys and I can go too! They are awesome sites! <3
Wow we just have so much in common! Dan and I both enjoy historical sites. We will definitely have to go both places this summer!
You had fun cleaning? The only time that happens to me is if I have company to talk to and keep the kids out from under my feet! April is right though, Pioneer Village is SO much fun! There are some really cool historical spots down in the Minnesota River valley about 30-45 minutes south of us too … old farmsteads, sites of Indian attacks, and 2 miles west of Pburg is a farm that actually is listed as a historical site because Indians once camped there on their way to the massacres in the river valley.
Ang – that is good to know about the Minnesota River valley too! I never even heard of it :). That is why asking people where to go (people who live here) is so much easier instead of meandering around towns, aimlessly. I LOVE old farmsteads and what not! Thanks for the info and if you have anymore, let me know!
