Our Little 18 Month Old

I couldn’t wait to take 18 month pictures of our sweet Mazy!

I once again fell into the trap of wanting to take the “perfect” pictures. I looked up different poses to take of 18 month olds and what I found myself doing was laughing at the different pictures I saw. Yeah, I would love to recreate the perfect atmosphere, but what I LOVE about taking candid pictures of Mazy is that they capture her personality.

I fell into the trap too of wanting to perfect the lighting of them, but then I looked at her and said there are no changes that need to be made after I edited 2 of them. I am not a photographer, but nor do I aspire to be. I take pictures with the beautiful camera my husband bought for me, for this very reason: to capture our daughter.

And so, without further ado, here is our just perfect little girl. When I look at her, she brings inexpressible joy. She brings a smile to our faces – and I’m sure she will to yours too. There is a light in her eyes, a cheerfulness in her smile that radiates.

Who knew a little toddler could bring and represent so much life? She is feisty, she is strong-willed, and she loves the Lord; already. When we do not immediately grab her hands to pray, she reaches out her hands and says “bay” (for pray). God has used her to grow my faith, challenge my faith, and draw me into a deeper relationship with God.

Could not be more thankful for this miraculous gift from God!

Oh, Kristin, I could just eat this girl with a spoon! In the second picture, I can see she is looking like her beautiful mama. I showed the pictures to Awesome Wonderful, and when we got to the last one, I explained that the guy is daddy Dan. He said, "That poor guy is toast!" LOL Gotta love a man who loves his little girl.
