God Works Through the Lulls In Life
You may be wondering what is new with regards to the gestational carrier process?
Well, there really isn’t much that is new, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t working.
We have to get labs done, but those are the only tests (that I know of) that need to be done until the end of July when I have my genetic testing done.
Meanwhile, God is using this “lull” time to it’s fullest! I remember thinking “what in the world am I going to do until the end of July with this process?” Oh ye of little faith, there is PLENTY to think about!
We are still working through some things with the embryo donation process, which has had it’s ups and downs. We still feel God calling us to proceed with it and until He shuts a door, we are going to continue to walk through it. God has opened up so many doors in our life – doors we didn’t even know existed. The other day Dan and I had some good conversations and I told him I am just so ready to be a parent. I just want to love on a little baby. But meanwhile, God has given us our youth group kids and honestly? It is perfect. Yes we are in a lull, but God has blessed me with people to love on. God has filled that void that I felt a few weeks ago. God has given me opportunities to extend what is in my heart. Never imagined Him to act in the way He has, but God’s ways are sufficient for me.
So yes, we sit and wait. There really isn’t any way around it. But I am a FIRM believer that everything happens for a reason and that God’s timing IS perfect. I remember talking with Brenda and saying that there is a reason why we have to wait. I am seeing reasons why now. And it’s only February. God continues to answer our prayers and answers them boldly.
Like I said in an earlier post, being a mom doesn’t mean you have to have that person(s) living in your house- it’s what’s in the heart. If God feels we are meant to be parents, then He will give us that opportunity in whatever avenue He sees fit. Until then, and during this “lull,” we love on the people He has given us now. I’ve learned to not look past today and live only for the future (except for eternity with our Father). God has given us opportunities to glorify Him now and we don’t want to miss those opportunities. Our time will come. Until then…
We love as He has loved us. (And yes, that is a challenge for myself :))
