Around The Home + Mazy’s 4 Year Pictures
We were one of the few who hung around West Michigan this past week during Spring Break! Yup, it was a bit cloudy and cold, but we still made the most of the glimpses of the sun and we still had a whole heap of fun, even if we didn’t go anywhere! For instance, instead of rolling around in sand, Mazy rolled down the giant hill at her soon-to-be school next fall!
We learned that this adorable children’s store in downtown Holland chooses a name each day and if your child has that name, they can choose a treasure from their treasure chest – it was Mazie on Thursday (spelled a bit different than ours, but it still flew). That part went well, of course! Don’t let that silly bird face fool you…I had to literally go up, kind of drag her out, and screaming at the top of her lungs, out of the store, outside in downtown Holland, back to our car that was a good block away. It was eventful. And she literally screamed the whole way home. Humbling moments. We’ve all been there, right?
This is reality too – morning snuggles in our robe and jammies, no make-up, etc…
I had a giftcard to a local store and look at what Mazy found? CLASSIC play-doh toy that I haven’t seen since I was a young child. Do you remember this?
One morning Mazy and I went out to attempt to take her 4 year old pictures. It was a tad chilly, I will admit, but she seemed all for it…until we started. It didn’t go great, if I’m honest. Mazy would say that same thing. Well, we warmed up in the car and then the 2nd attempt went a lot better, after I bribed her with a pack of her favorite gum afterwards. Gotta do whatchya gotta do, right? And I must say, she is just so adorable and they capture her personality well!
Her smile…her blue eyes…her love for life…I can just can’t get over her! In church yesterday Mazy said to me…”Mom, I just can’t stop kissing you!” Hmmm honey, where did you learn that one? And it’s nothing short of the truth. Love this sweet 4 year old so much. Everyday I truly can’t believe she is here and healthy. What a gift and miracle this 4 year old is!
And yes, we take our own photos. My husband bought me a nice camera 4 or 5 years ago and it was been wonderful! We have saved an incredible amount of money in the long run!
