Words are powerful. Of course you recognize the old saying… Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Really, that could not be more untrue. Sticks and stones hurt – for a short time. But those wounds usually heal. Words though – that hurt can last a lifetime. Words can…

  • Around The Home

As much as we loved and miss our time in the Keys, it felt good to be home this week. We sure missed our Miss Mazy! Dan has been incredibly busy with work, so I was able to catch up on things with home with Mazy’s help! Here’s what we kept busy doing: Forget standing…

I’m just going to get right to it! Here’s what our week looked like in pictures: Both smiling, but Dan’s is a bit forced…he is absolutely FREEZING, but Mazy is having the time of her life! And because she is, so is daddy. Sitting by the pool always requires a snack – and every last…

First week free of heart-related appointments (besides a blood draw) and it sure proved to be such a good one! I have missed being home with Mazy for just those short hours in the morning. Waking up and cuddling together, watching a show, pretending as far as our imaginations will go, oh I just treasure…

  • Life As Of Late…

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve done a “life” update, so I thought I would share what we have been up to! I started off the new year with a bang by starting to work at school again and also helped coach our school’s 8th grade basketball team. I had reached ONE YEAR post…

  • So Here’s The Story…

Fishing with Sterks is always an adventure. We’ve been known to get stranded with flat tires, motors not starting, hauling in the big lunkers, more boat issues, and now we can add another one to the list – someone has fallen out of the boat. Dan and I decided Wednesday afternoon that it would be…

  1. Kristin, you have made this opportunity for giving grace to others. North Street church is a grand place for you. I love your honesty. People will seek you out and God is using you in a wonderful way. I am so fortunate to have been in a small way a part of your journey.

    1. Mrs. Knott, thank you so much for your sweet message! My prayer is that God would use this all to bring MORE glory to Him and that He will use this story to draw others closer to God. And oh my goodness, Mrs. Knott, I always will remember your smile. I seriously have memories etched into my mind of your smile and your JOY in life. THAT is inspiring, to this day. A smile is so simple, but speaks Christ’s love without having to save a word. We just pray that each step, is a step closer to us doing His will and living out the purpose He has for us! Please keep in touch and thank you so much for your message 🙂

  2. Wow, I feel like if I substituted “heart issues” for “PCOS and chronic pain” I have said or could say these exact same things. Dealing with ongoing pain, missed and misunderstood diagnosis, and infertility are hard on a marriage, particularly on me as I’ve wrestled with God through these things and sometimes didn’t act the way I should. But my husband is patient with me, and I try to be patient with him because we are determined to stick it out no matter what. Sometimes, loving each other is easy, but often it can be very hard. But it’s in those times as you said that God shows His amazing grace and strength through us, and it’s been so sweet to see that. Thank you for your words; you have encouraged me that we’re not alone in these struggles through our marriage as we navigate the weird, wacky, wonderful life God has given us.

    1. Thank you for your comment, Sarah! We truly are not alone and the more we walk this journey called life, the more I have realized we are here to walk it together. With each other. To share our joys, triumphs, and trials!
