Every 6 weeks, I am tested for the specific type of leukemia that took over my blood. And every 6 weeks, the cycle of unknowns and worry flow through my mind, which eventually effect my body. The level of “scanxiety” rises each time, even though each time I tell myself “I’m not going to let…

  • One Day At A Time

This week is the WEEK! I can’t believe the time has come. Last October when we were talking about when to start, we were all so bummed that we had to wait until the summer; especially the end of the summer. Now we have finally arrived on retrieval and transfer week! Docs are thinking that…

  • Walking By Faith

When Dan and I were planning for our wedding our senior year of college, we were pretty into Jeremy Camp. We knew going into marriage that we could have a crazy road ahead of us, so we decided to have the song “Walk By Faith” sung by one of our friends. Little did we know…

Continuing my thoughts on the book Almost Amish… Don’t buy what you don’t need You can quickly read over that sentence and say “okay, I won’t.” No, really. Don’t buy what you don’t need. Guilty as charged! I have a hard time even picturing what America would look like if we all lived out that…

  1. Great job, Kristin! You may remember that my patience classroom was labeled “Pneumonia.” The day I went to the hospital, I asked God to just show me why this had happened. I am a true believer in the fact that God doesn’t make us sick, but two things are equally true: 1. He isn’t surprised at what happens. and 2. He uses everything for our eventual good. I had to reschedule a bunch of speaking things, almost completely stopped writing; but…bottom line…I believe He developed a spirit of patience in me! Worth it? Yes, a thousand times, yes.

    Love you big time!

    1. Guy, I just LOVE your words of wisdom, MAK! Those 2 truths, well, couldn’t be more TRUE! I love how you take every season of life, find the good in it, find the lesson, and let it work in your heart to prepare you for what’s next! I would’ve been extremely sad if you stopped writing! Love you too, MAK!
