Around the Home
Fall is back in the air! We sure enjoyed the warm temps last week and wearing shorts just one more time, but there is something to be said about all the colorful leaves falling! Just can’t beat falls in Michigan I feel like! It has also been an interesting week when it comes to my heart.
Last week I received the results of my holter monitor via the online portal and I learned my PVC burden is 18%. It’s even higher than last year, when I was hospitalized for a week. I knew it was getting bad since I’ve had difficulty walking Mazy to school, which is only 3 blocks away. It has been a hard pill to swallow that I now need to drive because I LOVE that walk and I love TO walk. But Monday, when I came home, I was so exhausted and knew it was not healthy for me. Then on Tuesday, I had my annual physical and my blood pressure was 84/60. I did feel a bit dizzy and lightheaded, but lately, that has been “normal” for me. Though that is also not a healthy level either and it’s a level I’ve been having more frequently. Anything below 90, I have to contact Michigan. The heart failure team believes b/c my extra beats are so significant, my heart isn’t pumping like it should, hence the low blood pressures. So, I have an ECHO scheduled locally on Wednesday and then I have a video visit with my electrophysiologist on Friday to talk about what options I have for treatment.
If I’m honest, I am disappointed and quite frustrated, yet have incredible peace about it all at the same time. It’s hard not to be disappointed after feeling so good and thinking that it was the “new normal”. It’s hard to understand why God allowed my heart to decline again, but I FULLY believe He has this out-of-this-world plan (like he does for each and every one of His children), and I just have to continue to take the steps forward through it. He has led me EVERY step of the way, even through some incredibly trying times, so I know He will do it again. HE WILL DO IT AGAIN. And that is my comfort. Though like I said, it’s frustrating and disheartening all at the same time.
On a much lighter note, here’s what’s been going on this past week…
Over the past month or so, Maggie has started chewing up toys, blankets, you name it. Strangely she NEVER chewed up ANYTHING before, but low and behold, her time as come. The latest culprit was Mazy’s bedspread…ugh. So I pulled out the good ole sewing machine and repaired it the best I could. Good thing you’re cute, dog!
The fall colors are just absolutely STUNNING right now!
And Maggie is simply Mazy’s best friend. Even though she chews up a whole lotta random stuff, seeing them together makes all the repairs worth every minute!
Making fishing jigs with daddy…
I just LOVE snuggling up and reading books with this chica:
This girl ALWAYS beats me in Monopoly! Like outright BEATS me:
Packing up our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes:
Since daddy was gone this weekend fishing, Mazy and I went on a date to Chick-Fil-A and the beach to watch the surfers! Mazy DREAMS of learning to surf one day like Dorothy on the Bucket List Family!
Here’s Dan’s nice catch of the weekend…a 17″ smallmouth bass. Fishing was a little slow and he even woke up to snow on the ground Saturday morning, but always a good time for him! As you can tell…it was a bit chilly…
