A Dinner Table Conversation

I love “family” meals.
I love “family” meals.
The other day I was eating at a Chinese restaurant. I realized I hadn’t been to one in over a year. Not that I don’t like Chinese – we just don’t eat out very often. Some friends invited us to join them for dinner and the company, more than anything, was what we looked forward to….
I am someone who is just a tad obsessed with Christmas. So much so, that I start playing Christmas music MONTHS in advance, not because I want to overlook the other holidays in between, but because Christmas music has a way of singing to my soul and helping me remember why I am here. Not…
I was busy doing something on the computer when Mazy asked me to help her with something. I told her to wait just a minute and mommy would help her, but she was pretty persistent. I was trying to find some papers we needed for our house loan, but then before I knew it, I was…
Are you a spring cleaner? Do you get the itch when nice weather rolls around to not only do a deeper clean of the house, but to go through what you have and purge of what you do not need? I’ll admit I get the spring cleaning itch more than once a year, but it’s…

I have learned that a lamp or table picked up at the thrift store and redone with things I have on hand is far more satisfying than something picked out from a furniture catalog. Also, I wouldn't trade the time we spend together doing these little projects for anything else I can think of. Good for you, sweet Kristin; and thank you for the encouragement.
Mary, you are SO right – it is WAY more satisfying to DIY than buy! One of the biggest my husband and I have tackled is redoing the complete inside of our fishing boat. It was a marriage tester I must say, but when we were finished, it is the thing we are most proud of. I love your perspective Mary and thank you for yet again, sharing your words of wisdom :)!
