A Dinner Table Conversation

I love “family” meals.

As I sit here and type this post, I am sitting in my grandparent’s old chair, while my husband does some work on his computer. Our tv is not on. Although, I admittedly say that often times, this is the scenario, but the tv IS on, really just as background noise. We may turn a…
Have you ever known someone who had something or had a quality that you admired or desired? You may have a hard time thinking of something or someone, but just think about the desires you have to live in a different home, have a different style, want your home to look a certain way, or…
You are a spend-a-holic? Before you quickly stand up and say “no way”… let me explain. Do you ever get urges to go shopping? To buy something new? To buy SOMETHING? Maybe that urge is there every few weeks, months, or maybe even every day. How do you feel when you buy something? Do you…
So what has been going on in our life? Well, we are still living with Dan’s parents and are really enjoying it. There are possibilities job-wise, but we are just waiting on God’s timing. We are still trying to make sense of everything with his previous job and we don’t know if we ever will…

I have learned that a lamp or table picked up at the thrift store and redone with things I have on hand is far more satisfying than something picked out from a furniture catalog. Also, I wouldn't trade the time we spend together doing these little projects for anything else I can think of. Good for you, sweet Kristin; and thank you for the encouragement.
Mary, you are SO right – it is WAY more satisfying to DIY than buy! One of the biggest my husband and I have tackled is redoing the complete inside of our fishing boat. It was a marriage tester I must say, but when we were finished, it is the thing we are most proud of. I love your perspective Mary and thank you for yet again, sharing your words of wisdom :)!
