A Dinner Table Conversation
I love “family” meals.

Do you ever catch yourself in the middle of something and you wonder “why am I doing this?” I have totally been there. Call it what you want – mindless searching or mindless dreaming. You know what I’m talking about! You jump on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, or even your favorite website, and have this life-envy…
Trust me, this goes against everything I was taught! Growing up, I was taught to sort my laundry. Towels with towels, sheets, and well, towels. Jeans with other dark items, on the permanent press setting. Whites with whites. I mean it’s pretty self-explanatory and really pretty easy. After Dan and I got married, as I…
When you look at your calendar, does your blood pressure immediately rise? Do you start to feel flush in the face, as stress starts to overwhelm you? It is easy to become overwhelmed with schedules as life seems to pull you in every direction. The unfortunate part is that in committing to so many…
Over the past few years, I have been reworking and tweaking my wardrobe. If you know me, clothes aren’t always a high-priority for me, though I have these secret thoughts of wanting to be more fashionable (don’t we all). When I decided to bite the bullet a year ago and create my own version of…

I have learned that a lamp or table picked up at the thrift store and redone with things I have on hand is far more satisfying than something picked out from a furniture catalog. Also, I wouldn't trade the time we spend together doing these little projects for anything else I can think of. Good for you, sweet Kristin; and thank you for the encouragement.
Mary, you are SO right – it is WAY more satisfying to DIY than buy! One of the biggest my husband and I have tackled is redoing the complete inside of our fishing boat. It was a marriage tester I must say, but when we were finished, it is the thing we are most proud of. I love your perspective Mary and thank you for yet again, sharing your words of wisdom :)!
