10 DAYS OF GRATITUDE – Day 2
Life is all about seasons.
Some feel more like the gloomy days of winter, while others feel like the perfection of a sun-kissed summer day.
I would say since we moved back to Michigan in 2017, it has at times, felt like some long years of winter. If it isn’t my heart, it’s cancer. This season of life has felt never-ending. BUT. What am I grateful in this current life stage?
I feel spring coming! Sometimes I’m nervous and almost scared at times that a new season is coming because I’m afraid the old seasons isn’t going to leave quite yet. But what I LOVE about this current stage is that I feel flowers are starting to bloom again in our life. I see the possibilities of new beginnings. New ideas. New ways of living. New food choices. New frame of thinking. Renewed faith.
I don’t wish to relive the past stages, but it does make me more thankful for what has been learned so we can embrace the current. Even though we are heading into the winter season naturally, I want to embrace our “spring” season and live it with eyes wide open.
Now I know, there are some who are in those “winter months”. How do you find something to enjoy? But this is where the rubber meets the road. Can joy be found in your current stage of life? Even in the “winter” months? Absolutely. No doubt about it. In fact, the Bible talks frequently about how to find joy amidst our trials (James 1, Philippians 4). There is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. Maybe it’s your clean water. A warm house. Family. Ability to read. A comfy pillow. There is ALWAYS something.
How about you? What are you grateful for about your current stage of life?
