A Dinner Table Conversation
I love “family” meals.
I love “family” meals.
It’s funny how currently, I live one block from the hospital I was born at. Now granted, it is no longer a hospital, but a large brick building that has become the administrative home for many ministries. And we often joke that as a family of 3, we were all born in different states. Dan…
Tip #14 – Use a shower caddy. Is your shower/tub overflowing with hair products and shower necessities? Are they constantly tipping over, causing you to kick them around? The place where you want to feel the most peace, is it overly cluttered? Consider getting a shower caddy to gather all of your shower needs in…
Once we have more, it’s just never enough, is it? Just think about that for a second. No matter how much we have, no matter how much money we make, it is just never enough, is it? We are always wanting more. And More. And MORE. Think about your life. What have you bought,…
Soup is something my husband and I love! I usually do not make soups with beans in them because my husband is allergic to them. I had made this chili recipe for our youth group, knowing full-well, my husband would not be able to eat it. Even though I could not attend, I find out…
N-O. This two-letter word is extremely powerful. Do you feel it’s power? Is it so powerful of a word, that you have a hard time saying it? I used to be that girl. That girl who said yes to please other people. That girl who said yes because she didn’t want to feel the guilt…

We are content on a school teacher's salary. I have learned that a lamp or table picked up at the thrift store and redone with things I have on hand is far more satisfying than something picked out from a furniture catalog. Also, I wouldn't trade the time we spend together doing these little projects for anything else I can think of. Good for you, sweet Kristin; and thank you for the encouragement.
Mary, you are SO right – it is WAY more satisfying to DIY than buy! One of the biggest my husband and I have tackled is redoing the complete inside of our fishing boat. It was a marriage tester I must say, but when we were finished, it is the thing we are most proud of. I love your perspective Mary and thank you for yet again, sharing your words of wisdom :)!
