A Dinner Table Conversation

I love “family” meals.

If you are at all into homemaking or home remedies, vinegar is probably at the top of your list. It seems as if there are new ideas on how to use vinegar every day. It almost gets overwhelming and therefore hard to remember all of its wonderful uses. In fact, you may have bought…
Some of you may have already seen this picture on facebook and instagram, but I couldn’t help but share it again. To me, the words on her shirt “Who needs a prince? (I have daddy)” is a saying that goes so much deeper than just words on a shirt. When Dan and I have talked…
“Mazy, look out, mommy’s purging again!” (Dan’s comment to Mazy the other day). Bless Dan’s dear heart! He is married to a woman who just can’t stay away from purging! Now Mazy is getting in on it too! The other day, I was going through my clothes. Pregnancy lended a hand at helping me get…
Tip #31 – Live everyday asking: “Will this bring me closer to God?” If there are things in our life that are drawing us AWAY from God, instead of closer, we need to consider ridding our lives on them. Whether it is an action or an item, we need to consider how it effects us,…

I have learned that a lamp or table picked up at the thrift store and redone with things I have on hand is far more satisfying than something picked out from a furniture catalog. Also, I wouldn't trade the time we spend together doing these little projects for anything else I can think of. Good for you, sweet Kristin; and thank you for the encouragement.
Mary, you are SO right – it is WAY more satisfying to DIY than buy! One of the biggest my husband and I have tackled is redoing the complete inside of our fishing boat. It was a marriage tester I must say, but when we were finished, it is the thing we are most proud of. I love your perspective Mary and thank you for yet again, sharing your words of wisdom :)!
