Back to routine!
As much as I love summer, I do love the routine of the school year. School year officially started for me this week, and oh how I just love being an elementary secretary! Never a dull day and kids come in saying the funniest things! It’s pretty amazing too, the little boo-boos that we have to patch up. Often times I have to have the student show me the exact spot where the band aid is needed, but I am all about making them feel better. Band-aids do amazing things!
The mosquitoes have been insane here in Minnesota, which is a bit unfortunate because the weather has been beautiful, but no matter how much bug spray you put on, they do not stay away. Mazy had about 10 bites on her face, which are now disappearing, but it’s so hard to explain to her that we can’t go outside – the place she loves the most. We find certain times of the day are better than others, and ironically we are actually thankful for the wind because that also subsides them.
Mazy is just learning and growing like crazy. Everyday she seems to learn a new word and like I’ve said before, we can reason with her too. She understands what we are saying and can choose to listen and obey, or the opposite too I suppose. She is just such a honey!
We decided to do a little picnic lunch on our new deck, which she loves!
She always makes us laugh with her goofy faces!
Love having a place where she can kick a ball around! A closed in deck is like having a little outside play pen! Sounds kind of weird, but she begs to go out there at 8:00 in the morning.
Sometimes Mazy needs a little down-time. She loves sitting in her little bean bag chair called the “Big Joe”, watching Praise Baby!
Mazy can’t get enough of her mac ‘n cheese! Those eyes…
Never get sick of that smile!
Dan downloaded a fun app for toddlers called Phone 4 Kids, and oh Mazy can’t get enough of it! Of course we limit her and I NEVER thought I’d be the parent to let my 17 month old play with the ipad, but then I remind myself that this is her world and this is our world. Lo and behold, she has learned more animal sounds and even hand-eye coordination because of this game. Who knew? Her smile says it all!
So I bought this cute shirt on clearance from Carters, that has snaps in the front. Mazy now thinks it is funny to unsnap all of them except the top one, and show her belly. It is hilarious! Clearly she is pretty proud of herself!
As you can see by her hair, that she has a good-sized mullet. I just have to get up the courage to take her in and get a trim! I don’t care about the hair, but I wonder how well she is going to sit still! The hair she pulled out is starting to somewhat come back in, so her hair, I must say, looks pretty ridiculous! Thankfully the mullet it curly, but it could use some evening out!
We did not have many plans for the Labor Day weekend, but we were okay with that. We enjoy weekends at home too, since docks start soon and other little things, so we are going to enjoy this time while we can!
