Around the Home
This past week was what I would call a “recoup” week, after being in the hospital for way too long. It always takes some time to get the strength back, and I feel like I’m making forward progress! So here’s what’s been going on:
Monday night at Dan’s parents, the kids had fun climbing a HUGE mound of dirt! Needless to say, someone had to take a shower afterwards! Our philosophy is though, let kids be kids. Little dirt will never hurt.
I’ve been on the lookout for a Dutch costume for WAY too long! Want to know how hard it is to find one in the land of the Dutch over here in West Michigan? One that would work for Mazy and the classic style? Well, one FINALLY came up for sale and I snagged it as quickly as I could. This girl was born to wear one of these…such a cute little Dutch girl! She’s got some growing to do, but I can always pin it up!
Pumpkin carving time! I forgot how hard it was to carve them suckers!
Mazy had mixed feelings about getting the “innards” out…
We had a family game night and Mazy spanked Dan and I! She won 2 out of 3 memory games, and then crushed us in Uno – a game she literally learned to play that night. Ouch.
We’ve had such beautiful nights for campfires!
Saturday night, we had our annual youth group hayride/bonfire with church. The younger kids had to get a ride too!
Heading into danger…some couples from church hid in the corn and started throwing spaghetti, marshmellows, and even Taco Bell tacos (still wrapped) at the kids!
We had a last minute visit from our dear friends from Minnesota! What a blessing it was to catch up with them! Time always goes way too fast…
A picture I hope to keep recreating year after year…
Hoping for yet another uneventful week! Michigan continues to monitor me closely through a new texting system they have. I’m in good hands, and I couldn’t be more thankful for their care! Hope you all have a wonderful week!
Good to see Angie and couple of kids in the area!! And now she made it to your house very nice!!!
It was so great to visit with them! Such an incredible family, as you know!
