Around the Home
Week (I don’t even know) of quarantine and I realize my pictures describe exactly what life looks like. I mean they always should, but almost all of my pictures have Mazy in them because that is what this quarantine has given us – family time! Not much new over in our neck of the woods, just working on house projects, making crafts, talking umpteen walks, and honestly enjoying this moment while we can, since we know there will probably never be anything like it.
Mazy’s school, and the school I work at, created a challenge called “The Passion Project”. This is where you choose something you’ve always wanted to learn and do, and make it your passion for these next few weeks/months. I was thinking I wanted to get back into crocheting, but that was something I already knew how to do (though if I’m honest, I would need a refresher)! One thing I’ve always wanted to try was painting watercolor flowers. Why I don’t know, but I’ve never taken the time to try, and for some reason, I had a desire to learn. Ever since I was young, I enjoyed art and thought I would be an artist someday. So I pulled out Mazy’s good ole watercolor paints and gave it a whir!. It’s a work in progress, but sure had fun trying for the first time:
This pretty much sums up our days: Mommy, Mazy, and Maggie!
We have taken on a rather ambitious project at our house in re-doing some concrete that was caving in around our pool. Won’t ever be a better time we figured! What started with Mazy not even being able to be outside with the jackhammer running, it ended with her wanting to help daddy:
Mazy has fun each day wearing different outfits:
Mazy and I have tried to find a different place to hike or walk each day, if not every other day, and this time we went to Paw Paw Park. A place very close to us, but never took the time to visit. And it was completely worth it!
Looking bugs around the ‘hood:
This crazy girl has been BEGGING us to go swimming. We didn’t think she actually would, so Dan told her to go put her suit on. I should’ve known better because sure enough, it started with the toes…
Then she was in:
It didn’t last long…
Checking out the Outdoor Discovery Center, which again, have never been to, but is rather close to us. Oh my, and completely worth it! SUCH a fun place!
Eagle’s nest replica:
Checking out the birds of prey exhibit:
Mazy had to write her name in the dirt road, oh, and her age. Not sure where the idea came from, but there it was, Mazy, 5.
We have been trying to do different crafts here and there…this one converting old egg cartons into painted flowers:
This coming week is much of the same, though on Friday I was supposed to go to Ann Arbor for a heart checkup. I contacted them and said I didn’t really want to go out there because the coronavirus is running absolutely rampant out there. They were changing their policies the next day to all video visits, so that will be wonderful! I can have a heart check-up from the comforts of my own couch! Of course she can’t listen to my heart, but I’m fairly confident I’m doing okay and so this too, is the perfect timing! I have stopped taking my anti-arrhythmia medication and so far so good, though it can take a good 2-3 MONTHS for it to completely rid itself out of my system. Hopefully though in the next few weeks we will have an idea of how my body will adjust. We PRAY no more extra beats show up, but this ole ticker is in God’s hands and we just have to trust the plan!
