Around the Home
Not much new over here at the Sterks this past week! We are learning how to pour and finish concrete, which is a new adventure for us! Though since all concrete workers are not able to work, we really didn’t have another choice but to watch lots of YouTube videos and learn how, if we wanted it done before summer! Even though we aren’t done, it has been a blessing in disguise. We are learning so much and have the time to do it. Outside of working outside, we have found plenty of other things to do:
We headed to the farm on Monday to check out the cows:
Learning to pour and finish concrete. We learned quickly that it’s all about the right tools and the right consistency!
We sure spend a lot of time together! I have gotten frustrated and had to say my “I’m sorry’s,” but we both are learning about forgiveness and grace.
Mazy wanted to get out, so we went to the Grand Rapids Airport Viewing Area. Even though there weren’t lots of planes coming in and out, it was still worth it!
Anyone else love eating this as a kid?
Sure love this pup! The timing couldn’t have been better in getting a dog! Mazy and Maggie are THE best of friends!
Mazy couldn’t wait to make Easter eggs and I was probably equally as excited because then it’s that many more hard-boiled eggs for me! Love ’em.
After a strong storm…
When I say strong…I mean hail-strong:
One day, after several store stops with no luck in finding toilet paper, our neighbors happened to overhear our conversation about where to look. A few minutes later, a pack of toilet paper came flying over the fence! What a gift!
Easter egg hunt time in the backyard:
And Mazy’s favorite part…seeing what’s inside:
Sunday afternoon we took a family walk through the Ravines, along the Grand River. Perfect Easter afternoon to spend together as a family!
Even though this Easter has looked a bit different, Mazy still wanted to put on an Easter dress and have me curl her hair. There is something about Easter that makes me get so choked up! I have a hard time reading, hearing, and singing about the death and resurrection of Jesus that just makes me cry tears of gratitude and joy. God’s grace is just undeserving, my emotions get the best of me!
Easter morning:
Opening up her Easter basket:
As we continue living our life at home, we are trying to maximize our time together, our time at home, and enjoy it while it lasts. It isn’t always easy, but we know in this too, God has a purpose! So here’s to another week!
