Around the Home
Summer in Michigan has been a HOT one! Granted we’ve only been back here for 3 years, but wowzas, this is has been the longest heat wave I remember in a long time, which means PLENTY of pool time! Mazy spent the beginning of last week camping with her grandparents and cousins on Dan’s side and what FUN she had! Even though this year has been nothing but abnormal, we are thankful it’s summer and we can just be outside! Here’s what our week has looked like:
Mazy fell in LOVE with our friend’s new dog. Have no fear, we are a one-dog house only. I mean look at that face though…
While Mazy was gone, Dan and I capitalized on date nights:
And while Mazy was gone, we gained Maggie’s sister, Millie. Inseparable:
Pool days are just the BEST days:
Our friend from Minnesota makes THE best venison jerky. Mazy confidently calls it “chicken”, but this pic just proves how much she loves it. Fightin’ for every bite:
Even though it’s been incredibly hot, I’ve tried to get out at night to take a walk. And it’s these views that make it all the more enjoyable:
This past week too, my grandma who is 88, took a turn and was put on hospice. She is ready to see her Savior and it’s hard to not want that for her too. At the same time, it’s never easy to experience death of a loved one; especially during COVID when family is not allowed to see her, except maybe one or 2 people a day. It’s hard to make sense of a situation like this, especially when it’s someone close to you, but you start to understand how backwards some of this is. Someone is slowly passing away, at times alone, because visitors are limited, if at all. Hard to comprehend. But we know she is not alone for the Savior of the world is always near. Clinging to that hope. We are just praying for God’s perfect timing to prevail, which we know it will, and for his will to be done!
