Around The Home
Welcome August!
We knew the summer would fly with all the changes and happenings that have been a bit unusual in our summers of the past, but we sure have enjoyed it! The weather this summer has been everything beautiful. We have had very few rainy days, which unfortunately means a dryer summer for the crops though. Although, God sent some beautiful earth-soaking rains this week, which was much needed! Despite the rain, we were able to still enjoy a wonderful week here in West Michigan!
Tuesday night, we went out to eat as a family to use up a gift card, but of course as we went to pay, their portal was down and we were unable to use the gift card. Oh well on the “free” meal and I guess we will have to go back! Not always a bad problem! Since it was such a beautiful night, we drove down to Holland State Park to walk the pier and Mazy could play on the playground. We could not have asked for better weather! And oh what joy it brings me when I see my two loves, walking hand in hand.
Many of you may have seen this picture on facebook:
Mazy hasn’t “loved” napping as of late, and this proves that she tries to even bribe mom out of taking a nap! While sitting on our couch, all of a sudden I hear coins hitting the floor, slowly, but surely…
Despite attempts to nap, sometimes it ends up just being a little quiet time while watching some Paw Patrol. Ya win some, ya lose some! And what I love…she needed her puddle jumpers right next to her…
When your daughter is grocery shopping like a champ and she finds Paw Patrol fruit snacks majorly on sale, it’s a definite yes! Apparently she couldn’t wait to dig into them!
On Monday, our church helped serve snowcones at Zeelmania. We had a sweet family take Mazy to all of the stations while we served, which was SUCH a blessing! She was able to even get her face painted! Love being part of the FAMILY of God.
This week is filled with many pool parties and also preparation for my family’s vacation, starting this coming weekend! Something we of course, are looking very forward to. We again, could not be more thankful for the gift of our pool. God KNEW that it would be the perfect tool for us to use to get to know people and especially our youth group kids. God just knew, LONG before we did :).
