Around The Home Since Surgery
Life “around our home” has looked a little different these days, but never the less, it’s still life in our home, during our season of life! So here’s what we have been up to!
Despite the craziness of our life these days, my sister was able to help me decorate our house with the few Christmas decorations we had, the first weekend we were home, and then Mazy was able to help me finish them up by decorating the tree (and her little tree too).
Last Monday was a bit shocking when I got a call from Michigan saying I had to go to the ER “now” after they heard about some of the symptoms I was having. It wasn’t the news we expected, but at this point, we know that whenever we are told to go in, it’s for our best. After testing, I was given a few more medicines to take, with a follow-up at Michigan that Wednesday. I was cleared of all issues they thought I could have that day, so we were thankfully sent home so we could spend Thanksgiving with our family.
Mazy has learned to brush hair, which has been SO fun…oh do I love having a little girl…my little sidekick!
Ironically, I have felt extremely busy since being home! Between trying to figure out what meds to take when, resting, moving, resting, trying to keep life going, resting, napping, phone calls, visiting nurses, physical therapy, trying to eat when I don’t have an appetite, it gets busy! But, I finally have had some time to address our Christmas cards, which I LOVE doing! Though, the thought of licking over 100 envelopes didn’t sound very appealing, so I finally thought of the grand idea to wet a paper towel to moisten (I know, you all love that word) each envelope. I know they make something you can buy but yes, I am too cheap.
Even though there is not much I can do for Mazy, one thing that is sure, is that the snuggles will never leave. They will always be available and I will soak up every single one of them!
Since we have moved into our home in June, there have been countless squirrels! Running along our fence, up the trees, around the yard, and Mazy is fascinated by every single one of them. Dan thought of the fun idea to hang a squirrel feeder, and oh has it been a hit since! We have a little bay/sitting window, that is PERFECT for Mazy to watch the squirrels eat the left over corn from Grandpa’s fields!
