Around The Home
With the release of my book, I find that I’m a little behind on my “regular” blogging schedule! Of course I am beyond delighted to share my life with you through my book, but one thing I want to continue to do is share about my life through this blog. I personally find enjoyment and beauty in seeing what goes on in someone’s life via a blog because sometimes it feels like you are walking through life with them, so I hope you enjoy these types of posts too. Even though of course pictures only show one part of the picture, I hope you get a glimpse into the Sterk’s life!
I am a little behind because last week, we were camping at the Conference Grounds, which is located between Holland and Grand Haven, in Michigan. More on that later! So, here’s a glimpse at our life two weeks ago:
The highlight was definitely going to Dutch Village! Mazy asks frequently if we can go there; in fact, Mazy JUST walked towards me (without seeing any of these pictures) and asked “where’s Dutch Village?” I’m telling ya, this girl LOVES this place! So we decided to have a little mommy-daughter date! Unfortunately the ferris wheel was under maintenance, which she was pretty bummed about since that is one of her favorite parts; but she quickly got over that and we so enjoyed our day!
Petting the animals is one of her most favorite parts! No fear here!
The rides are another favorite!
She loved seeing her reflection in the large mirrors
And the giant slide…
I loved hearing her squeal as we rode the swings!
Her smile says it all!
So we were on the playground and saw this duck with her eggs (just remember this picture)…
Mazy loves things in rows and organizing – as you can see! She had to line them all up, just so!
LOVE this picture!
This ole guy loved my LifeVest and scratching his head on it! I sure got a few looks wearing this thing, but I thought eh, riding the swings, I better!
About 30 minutes later, this is what we saw! The eggs were hatching!
A girl after my own heart – organizing these AWESOME toys in a line and every other color.
This never gets old!
We decided to take the fishing boat out as a family of 3, which we really hadn’t done much of in Mazy’s life! She definitely loved riding on the boat and going fast, than fishing, but it was a beautiful night and definitely worth it!
We sometimes hem and haw about getting a dog…pictures like this makes me think we should get one. But them I’m reminded of the responsibility too. A pool is good enough for now!
Mazy reaading books to her daddy:

I read all afternoon and am about 3/4 of the way done with. Wow you and Dan went thru a lot more than any young couple should have to. We also have a baby in Heaven.( our first). That is hard even after all these years. Sound like Minnesota was exactly where you needed to be at that time. Sometime I have to have you sign my book please!! Keep blogging!??
Betty, I would LOVE to sign your book! In fact I’d be honored to! You hadn’t specified, so I didn’t want to do it just in case you didn’t want it to be signed, but I would love to do so. You nailed it – Minnesota was exactly where we needed to be! I just love how God works like that! Also, I had no idea you also have a little baby in Heaven. Don’t you just look forward to that reunion? Brings tears to my eyes, when our families will one day be whole again! Thank you for your message :).
