Around The Home
I have to admit, I look forward to when school starts. Not that Mazy is in school yet (she is not going to 3 school this year), but I sure am looking forward to the routine that the school year offers! Being in youth ministry, our life follows the school schedule to some degree, so the school year looks different for us than summer does. We love them both, but I am a routine and structure girl, so I look forward to those days as well. But, that doesn’t mean we don’t find fun and activities in between and live out both seasons to the fullest! This week seemed to be pretty filled with activities, though one day I was just at home and it was AMAZING! Mazy loves to stay active and most of the time I do too, but this girl gets worn out easily, so finding fun at home too, is always enjoyable! So here’s what we did this week:
On Monday, we headed to Dutch Village, to use up some free passes that we had! Mazy would truly go there everyday if she could! We always have such a good time there – and what a blessing it is to have that attraction just 10 minutes down the road!
It was the perfect day – a little sunny, but mostly cloudy, so we weren’t drenched in sweat the whole day! The petting of the animals is one of Mazy’s favorite parts! And going on the rides of course!
For 50 cents you can feed the goats. Mazy is just fascinated and gets so giddy when she gets a chance to do this! Really, I need to take her to the zoo!
After our fun at Dutch Village, we headed across the highway to Chick-fil-A, to indulge in their shakes! Mazy is a die-hard strawberry shake fan, where I expanded my taste buds and tried their frozen lemonade – AMAZING!
Our dear friend just got back from Africa, so we spent some time looking at pictures and hearing about her trip! Needless to say, Mazy loves her SO much and wants to be just like her! And I’d be just fine with that!
Mazy told me she wanted to do a photo shoot with her dog Caz – as you can see, Caz is not a real dog, but her stuffed animal. She had to do all different kinds of poses and stands. I was giggling behind every picture I took! Again, this girl just needs a real dog! We are looking, but haven’t find “the” dog yet! If you know of any, let us know! We are maybe a little picky – we want a bigger dog, not a puppy, house trained, good with kiddos, and isn’t high strung. Those dogs are out there I know (in fact we found a 4 year old St. Bernard that was just PERFECT, except it was 150 lbs.).
On Saturday, we went to my niece’s birthday party at AirTime in Grand Rapids! What a FUN time! Mazy was a bit shy/scared at first (granted she had just woken up from a short snooze on the way there), but once she went with her cousin, she was all set. What fun and so thankful they invited us!
One thing we did, which I realize I did not take any pictures of, was we drove up to Fife Lake where my brother and sister and in law live, and Mazy got a chance to play with her other cousins! Such the perfect day and so glad we made the drive up there! I also drove to Ann Arbor for my heart appointment. Definitely put the miles on our van this week, but sure was a good one!
This coming week is much slower, which I need anyways. Because it’s so hot, I don’t always feel the greatest, so having time to just be inside is always a good thing for this heart patient! Can’t believe it’s Labor Day weekend next weekend, but as I often find, different seasons of life, like there are different seasons, is always a good thing! Too much of a good thing, becomes not so much a good thing anymore!
Enjoy your week!
