Around The Home
Snow? Almost 80 degree weather? Welcome to the midwest!
Monday morning we woke up to snow, high winds, and 30 degree temps. Not what we expected for May 1, but nevertheless, a surprise!
The cold weather did not stop us from having fun at Open Rock! This picture says it all – yes, there are kids locked in the other room too. Love how “creative” they can get and make their own fun, with no harm done!
Mazy so enjoys going to Open Rock to see “kids” as she calls them! She never wants to leave, but her bedtime usually is calling her!
Mazy enjoys walking to the local gas station to get “candy” (which means Reese’s peanut butter cups). This her and her daddy’s thing to do together, but apparently she walks up to the counter, puts her quarters on the counter, and THEN goes and gets the candy. What a honey!
On the way home from running errands on Wednesday, we happened upon this BEAUTIFUL double rainbow! I pulled off the road onto a gravel road to tell Mazy about what a rainbow meant. She could not stop talking about the rainbow, which made me think about the joys that God gives us in life, through His promises – even to a little 2 year old! And apparently the next day, when Dan got her up from her crib that morning, that’s the first thing she talked about – the rainbow!
Okay, so Dan is not the only one who gets her candy…we were at a baseball game and we rarely buy her anything at games, but this time I caved!
Now we are back to WARM weather, which meant plenty of sunshine soaked in! This girl would live outdoors if we let her! Our little sandbox has surely served it’s purpose! Mazy often cries when we tell her that it’s time to go in and get ready for bed! Though we always remind her that the sandbox will be there tomorrow too.
I decided to paint my toenails for the first time this season and as Mazy watched me, she asked “Mazy toes too?” Absolutely, sweetie! She did not BUDGE, even though she kept saying “tickle, tickle…” Now she is so proud of her pretty toes!
Back to the sandbox…
We are starting to pack up boxes here and there, but the conclusion we came to was that the stuff we own, we use. Outside of our games, dvds, and winter clothes, we really use most of what we own! That’s good in the sense that everything has a purpose, but bad in the sense that we really can’t do much packing until the week of! So, we will just continue to soak in our last few weeks here in MN! I have my yearly heart check up this week, which is always something we eagerly look forward to, to see where the ole ticker is at. We have our last few appointments scheduled, graduation parties to attend, last church services, people to say good bye to, and before we know it, June 2 will be here! And thus will begin yet another beautiful and exciting chapter of our life!
