This past week in our area was Tulip Time, where there is a huge festival, for a whole week, celebrating the Dutch heritage in Holland, Michigan. My husband and I are both Dutch, so being able to step into a past-time of mine and embrace our roots, was so fun to do as a family. Last year I wanted to go, but did not feel well, so this year, I wanted to make sure I went and we sure embraced a lot of what Tulip Time has to offer! We went to 2 parades and watched the Dutch dancing one night, on the streets of downtown Holland.

Mazy also finished her motor movement class this week, where the parents could come and watch the last session to see what they all learned. Mazy was SO proud and couldn’t WAIT for us to come.

The BEST part of the Wednesday parade was the UPS guy! This poor guy still had deliveries he had to make, even though the parade was going on, so he was just walking right next to whatever was on the road at that time, which made him look like he was a part of the parade, until we realized he had legit packages. He went through twice, and one time he even came back with beads on. It was absolutely hilarious, but really, this guy was just trying to do his job!

Mazy was sad that motor movement was done and plus, she had the most amazing teacher!

At the end of each motor movement class, they could get a stamp on their arm, leg, forehead, you name it! And that last day, that still held true.

Thursday night we went to go watch some people we knew, Dutch dance. It ended up being a church “gathering”!

Can’t go to the parade without getting a snowcone? I’d prefer the elephant ear, but Mazy, despite how chilly it was, preferred the snowcone!

Our town, for fun in the summer, has put painted rocks all over the downtown area. If you find one, you are supposed to take a picture with it and post it on social media. Well, we literally look every single day for these rocks on our daily walk, so we haven’t posted a pic every single day. Well, while waiting for the parade, in downtown Holland, a town over from where we live, Mazy found a painted rock! She was absolutely ecstatic and so we had to definitely post a picture this time. She ended up taking it “home” and is going to “plant” it somewhere else. How fun…if your town doesn’t do this, I HIGHLY recommend it!

Yesterday, Dan and I celebrated 13 years of marriage! I remember thinking when my older sister was married 13 years, how LONG that was…HA! Now we have hit that mark! God surely has taken us on a journey, but all couples could say that. We are so thankful for all that God has brought us through and all He will bring us through in the future. His faithfulness has never been so evident in our lives and we couldn’t be more thankful!
