Around The Home – Part 2
As much as I LOVE sharing pics from vacations and so forth (like I did yesterday of my family’s vacation), it also isn’t reality, so I thought I’d add to my “Around The Home” post by adding what’s been going on in our everyday life too. Dan and I decided that we could be professional travelers/vacationers (I mean who doesn’t want to), but at the same time, reality is nice to get back to too. Plus, I feel like on social media, it’s easy to share just the fun excursions and happenings, but I also like to share pictures of our everyday life! I realize most of them are with smiles and laughter, though we also have our moments when we could all go to our rooms and cry! But truly, those smiles are a result of being so thankful just for the life God has given us. It’s not always easy and things haven’t always gone as planned, but God sure has been so good to us! And I feel like each week, these pictures are just a glimpse into that goodness:
I had the privilege of watching my sister’s girls for a while and Mazy’s love for her baby cousin never lessens!
Halloween in August, right? This girl pretends she is a dog all. the. time.
We visited some friends at the Conference Grounds (a place Mazy LOVES) and the kiddie pool, once again, did not disappoint!
The ride home after the conference grounds, well, Mazy didn’t quite make it! Needless to say, she slept in her clothes that night!
So my husband rocks for MANY reasons…but one of them being, he decided to try and fix my beach chair, by hand-sewing a new seat for it! What a guy! And, he can sew a mean stitch!
Mazy just adores her stuffed animals!
She had to take some pictures of them too…
And take them for a walk…
And after a few days, Dan finished the chair! Attached to it was this note: “Try me – just don’t fart too hard”
Yes, that’s my husband!
The finished product. Though I have to say, it didn’t last…after just a few sits in it, the fabric ripped through, not at the seam where he sewed, but the fabric wasn’t strong enough. I felt so bad b/c he spent so much time on it! Thankfully when it really ripped through, he was sitting in it!
My heart just isn’t doing what it’s supposed to be doing these days, so another whole round of potassium bottles came our way. 100mEqs a day for this girl! #horsepills
I plan to sell a bunch of Mazy’s clothes at the school I went to as a child, for their clothing and toy sale. I have just a few clothes to price!
This girl is just too cute…
Love hanging out with my buddy!
And finally, we had to take her stuffed dog to the park to push him on the swings. This girl is going to be an excellent babysitter someday!
On Wednesday I am heading back to the U of M for a scheduled heart check-up. I am eager and ready for it, knowing that things just aren’t quite right with my heart yet, even after all the surgeries and procedures I’ve had. I will also have an ECHO, but it is after my meeting with the doctor, so I won’t get the results back until a few days later. All I know is that God has given me overall contentment that this is part of my story, though I am intrigued to know what the “next thing” is going to be. I have this gut feeling I won’t make it the 10 years until my next surgery, when I will have to have my valve replaced, but you never know! It’s all in God’s caring and loving hands!
