Hard At Work
On Saturday, our families and friends came to help us do some work around our new home! We had many boxes to unpack, find places for everything we owned, and of course the fixing up house to make it our own. Thanks to everyone’s help, we got pretty far! We are hoping to add a fresh coat of paint almost all of the interior surfaces. Being an almost 100 year old home, though the painting isn’t that old, we want to brighten it up and make it our style. We also have been working on cleaning the carpets, since a dog previously resided here. Then the little odds and ends here and there, such as finding doors for each doorway, cleaning up the yard, and of course the big one, getting the pool open! For never having had a pool, that is a bit of daunting task, but we know it will happen when it’s supposed to. Thankfully we have a few weeks to work on the house before Dan officially has to start working, which makes all of these projects pretty manageable. Especially when our family and friends come alongside us – it makes the projects that much more fun to do.
One of the first things we did when we arrived was get Mazy’s sandbox up and running. Needless to say, we have a lot of sand in our house and on her changing table because she just can’t get enough of it!
Many hands make light work!
My nieces came over for the day, to help entertain Mazy. They had so much fun that no nap was needed!
These two lovelies organized Mazy’s toy room, which was such a huge help!
Didn’t they do a great job?
We just LOVE our home – it even has a deck out back, that is PLENTY big! Definitely big enough for picnics.
Dad cleaning up the backyard area – it looks amazing!
I wish I could take a picture of all the changes and work we are doing, but it would sure bore you! On Sunday, we went to North Street and what an incredible day it was! We felt so welcomed, loved, and cared for. We met people of all ages, which is just a testament to the type of church it is. Mazy of course loved the nursery thanks to it having a slide! She has been adjusting extremely well (which this mama was really nervous about). I think it helps that she has familiar faces to see, though our hearts drop when she starts talking about her little friends in Minnesota! They will always be a part of our life and hers too.
This new chapter has been filled with much peace – a peace that only God can give! Praise be to Him alone!
