Heart Update
We met with my cardiologist this morning and the perfusion test showed scarring which means I have had a mild heart attack. The thing is, two years ago I had an MRI in Minnesota and it also showed scarring from a mild heart attack. Question is, is it the same spot or a new one?
Now this is where I just stand in awe of God: So I was referred to Michigan by my cardiologist in Minnesota, to a good friend of hers. So, my Michigan doctor contacted my Minnesota doctor to pull up my records there to see what she thinks. Who knew that two years later, that that connection would be so valuable? Another reason God led us to Michigan!
What doesn’t make sense is that if it is scarring from an “old” heart attack, then something else is causing my low ejection fraction. Regardless, I will have my MRI today at 1:00 (hopefully get results tonight or tomorrow morning) and then have a heart catheterization tomorrow (as the doctor said, you probably saw that one coming and sure enough I did ). If I am stable then I can possibly go home on Saturday, pending the results of these two tests. Then whatever needs to be done, may be able to be done outpatient.
They have increased some of my medications, which does cause some more symptoms, but hopefully over time my body will adjust. I felt a bit off this morning, so that’s another good thing about being at the hospital; they can monitor my symptoms and rhythms closely.
So we are in a waiting and test-waiting pattern, but little findings are happening and hopefully it will create a big picture so that we know where to go from here.
THANK YOU for all of your prayers, words of encouragement, and support! The toughest part is the uncertainty of this whole situation, but also being away from Mazy again. Pray that this doesn’t even phase her. We are blessed to have such a wonderful family and greater family to support her and us! Thank you! We know this is just the beginning of a new journey, but God is proving Himself faithful time and time again! Great is thy faithfulness!
