Home Tour ~ Bathroom #2
One thing that we really wanted in our new home when we moved from Minnesota, was to have two bathrooms. They did not have to be full bathrooms, but we learned from only having one bathroom in our first two homes, having another would be nice. Not a requirement and definitely a luxury, but something we were looking for. When we saw that this home had a bathroom upstairs, the place where we knew Mazy would eventually land, it was just icing on the cake!
This bathroom is small, but just to have another bathroom, is so nice! Then Mazy can have her own little space up there, without mommy and daddy bothering her!
Here’s a glimpse into what our second bathroom looks like:
The door leading into the bathroom:
When you first walk into the bathroom, this is what you see. A set of built-in shelves, which offers just enough space to store items. No towels or washclothes needed since there is no shower up there. It’ll be perfect for Mazy!
The mirror, I had received from Wayfair, and we never had a great place to put it, until now!
Dan installed the light switch and outlet, and also put in a canned light. There was a smaller mirror with a light bulb right above it with a pull chain. We knew Mazy wouldn’t be able to reach it or see in the mirror for a number of years, so we decided to switch things up a bit. And of course my handy dandy husband did a phenomenal job!!
So what did we change? The bathroom was blue, but we decided to paint it a lighter color, so we went with our bedroom color – Woodlawn Blue, since we had enough paint to do that and didn’t have to buy any more. It definitely has a cottagey feel to it, like our bedroom does. With the wainscoting, it adds just that little touch for a small room, was there when we moved in. We also painted the ceiling and shelving white, to make it more uniform for the color we chose.
It’s the perfect little space for our sweet girl someday! Plus, it’s nice for when people stay with us, for them to have their own little bathroom too.
