  • Around the Home

It’s been a bit since I’ve shared what’s been going on in our lives through pictures, so I thought I would share a few. Thought I’d also given an update on my health! Well, I have been feeling great, which has been such a gift and such an answer to prayer. I almost don’t want…

  • Treatment #2 Complete!

This past Friday I was able to come home from my second completed consolidation treatment. What that basically means is that they took my chemo treatments that I received in September, and administered them at a lesser dose (consolidated). I’m getting the same chemotherapy, just at a lesser rate. I will be doing this 2…

  • One Diagnosis Away

Two weeks ago, I walked through the doors of the Cardiovascular Center at U of M, anticipating my 4th ablation. All in attempts to correct an arrhythmia that just seemed to keep coming back, no matter what the doctors did. Little did I know that when I left our house that morning, it would be…

  • When Life Seems Unfair

Do you know someone who is going through a difficult time in life? I don’t know about you, but it seems like every which way I turn, someone is struggling. It just doesn’t seem fair. I thought about this idea and kind of a “why bad things happen to good people” thought and the more…

  • Always Right On Time

Not a minute too early and not a minute too late. When the Israelites were wandering in the desert for 40 years, God provided manna. Every day. They weren’t to store it up for then it would rot (except on Saturday they could gather a double portion so that they could rest on Sunday). God…

  1. The Temu shopping site sells a wide variety of red light therapy devices at a fraction of the cost of your example. I personally have a small, inexpensive one for hair growth, and it has actually improved the thickness of my hair. I am unaware of any differences in quality between Temu’s products and the one you recommend, all I know is that Temu’s are way less expensive.

    1. That’s great that you’ve seen growth! The only thing that I would caution with buying one from Temu is that it is probably not FDA approved or has standards or certifications that it needs to meet. As beneficial as RLT is, it can also be used incorrectly and if the standards aren’t monitored, I’m not sure it’s 100% safe to use. I would check to see if it has low EMF, if it has been tested, what it’s irradiance is, etc. There are MANY different devices out there for RLT, I guess for me personally, when I’m putting something on my body, I want to ensure it’s safe to use and if a product isn’t tested, isn’t FDA approved, or has high EMF, I would be very hesitant. But I’m not sure of the product you have. I would research “does quality of rlt device matter” etc. and that’ll give you some info to think about. But again, your device might meet all of that criteria too. Hope this is helpful!

      1. Kristin, you are quite right in that I do not know about the details of my red light hair gizmo. I do know that most (?) of our electronics come from China, so I dared to try this product. It LOOKS like other red light products. ha ha I will let someone else do the research while I lay my gizmo aside.
        P.S. I love your blogs!

        1. Kerry, I think you’re spot on that most of our electronics do come from China :). And I dare bet that if we went through our house, many of ours would be! I think it is very fair to want to try it, especially for such a cost difference! And like you said, it LOOKS legit too, and that I would so agree with! But as with anything, how a product comes about does matter, especially when it comes to something that we are using to improve our bodies. I know with some of the unregulated devices, the amount of electro magnetic fields aren’t regulated. I’m not saying they are like microwaves, but I think waiting for more research to come out wouldn’t be a bad thing either. As the ole saying goes, rather be safe than sorry, right :)? Please let me know though if you have any more questions! I’ve been working on a post about why the Lumebox versus other brands, and so that might be helpful too b/c that will hit on the very things we are talking about. I appreciate your encouragement, Kerry, and please keep in touch!
