Is RLT Just Another Trend?

If you’re anything like me, I tend to pump the breaks HARD when I see something “new” on the market. I often think it’s just another ploy marketers are using to try and convince me to buy something, with no lasting value.

That’s what I thought when it came to red light therapy; until I did the research. There are several universities, not just medical teams and facilities, who are studying the effects of red light therapy. In fact, the Clemson University football team is even using it to enhance performance, decrease recovery time, and to alleviate pain and inflammation. HISTORY OF RLT

It may seem like it’s this new-found technology, but it actually was first used in medicine in 1893 to treat smallpox, and then 2 years later, to treat lupus! Then in 1993, believe it or not, NASA was using it to try and grow plants, and found that it actually worked! And this is where it gets interesting and almost comical: the researchers who were exposed to the intense RLT while doing the plant experiment, noticed shocking healing of their own skin wounds. Who would’ve thought? Maybe there was something to this RLT?

Then in 2001, as this incidental finding opened NASA’s eyes to the possibilities of RLT, US Navy SEALS then used it and found that their wounds healed 40% faster. Say wha?
