It Really Is This Simple
I once heard a quote from Billy Graham that says, “God said it. I believe it. That settles it.”
I want you to think about the issues that surround our lives today. Homosexuality. Promiscuity. Self-indulgence. Power. Pursuit of the almighty dollar. Abortion. Boujee (luxurious) lifestyles.
I know some would disagree with me, but these are not political issues, but Biblical.
The question is though – do we KNOW what God said?
If we don’t, then it’s hard to believe it.
And if we do know what he said, but don’t believe or WANT to believe it, or WANT to live it out in our own lives, our lives will never reflect the “settles it” part.
Let me give you an example:
1 Corinthians 7:2 says, “But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband.” Romans 1:26-27 also speaks of this, where men and women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, receiving “due penalty for their error.”
So God said it. Do you believe it? If you do, that settles it. There should be no question!
Yes, our beliefs as Christians go against the world’s standards and against the popular thought, but it doesn’t matter! We have no reason to fret, sway, or worry because we can hold onto the truth that God said it and that settles it.
Stand firm in that truth. Let this spur you on to learn what God said, so you can believe it, and let that settle it. No questions asked. The Bible says what it does. There is no room for changing it, like many are doing. God said it. That settles it.
How are you taking this truth out into the world? How are you proclaiming what God said, so others may believe too?
I encourage you to dig into Scripture to see what God says about the issues in our world. If God said it, believe it! And my friend, that settles it.
Just remember what it says in 2 Timothy 4:2 – Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
Do it diligently, with love, humbleness, and with great patience.
