My Dad – A Christ-Like Example To All
In Christ alone, our hope is found, he is my light, my strength, my song. This was one of my dad’s favorite songs and now his words of faith have now become sight.
My dad is dancing in Heaven after a difficult battle with ALS. He entered Heaven in incredible peace with us all by his bedside, praying, reading scripture, singing, listening to worship music, and telling stories, Monday afternoon. My dad was a quiet soul who led our family with humility and love, while being a gentle friend to many. In my dad’s words, “God and Jesus are part of who I am.” His biggest desire in life wasn’t anything of this world, but to see others come to salvation in Christ. My dad was faithful in everything he did whether it be farming, to his family, or to our Savior. And now he is with His Savior – the one whom he lives his life for.
Dad, as I told you every time I saw you, “See you soon!” I love you and thank you for being someone I will always look up to and be challenged to live out the legacy you have set for us. A legacy of being a servant of Christ. Well done, good and faithful servant.
I know our little babies have already screamed “GRANDPA” and toppled you over! Dance. Sing. You are FREE from the burdens of this world. All praise be to God.
Please pray for my mom as she had to say a temporary goodbye after 50 years of marriage. What an example they have set for us!

This picture encompasses my dad so beautifully! This is why he was the man he was – always putting God first, submitting his life to His will:
