My FAVORITE Place To Shop!
I am not a big shopper. Never have been (just ask my family)!
I am not a big spender and do not enjoy spending money on things I do not need. Yes, there are things I could always want, but I can usually justify a reason to NOT buy it (mainly because I have a pretty bad guilty conscience). I just have this philosophy that I do not buy what I do not need. If I find I am short on something, then I buy it. If I am not, I don’t. Simple as that. Baby clothes, well, still working on that – I have bought one or two things that I just couldn’t pass up!
So when it comes to clothes shopping, I wouldn’t necessarily say I am a picky shopper, but I am not going to buy something just to buy something. I am learning that what I wear, I want it to be comfortable, affordable, but also last. Dan and I are coming to the conclusion that cheap is not always better (Dan’s often thought that way and I just starting to come around). We are becoming more quality over quantity. I suppose that’s what simplifying life does to you, right?
Unfortunately, sometimes you have to pay a pretty penny for quality. Is it worth it, if it lasts you years instead of months? I’d like to think so!
After having Mazy, I realized that a lot of what I owned (which wasn’t a ton in my opinion), just did not fit me anymore – everything was just too short and being 6’1″, it just annoys me when my shirts ride up and/or don’t meet my pants. I feel awkward and lets be honest, it looks awkward. So now I am in the process of revamping the wardrobe with clothes that actually FIT.
So my solution?
Well, I do like Old Navy talls, but they are hit and miss with styles that I would choose. I am a pretty “plain” person I’d say, but I do like some jazzy things. Then I happened upon…
Where we live, there are not many store options for clothes-buying. I am not able to go and drive 1 1/2 – 2 hours to where there are more options, so I find myself shopping online, more and more. A friend had told me about a baby product on Jane.com, so I thought I would check it out. Since then, I have been absolutely hooked.
For this non-shopper to love a website and actually BUY items from it, says a lot. So take my word for it! Can I warn you though? It is addicting. And yes, this is again, coming from a non-shopper.
I have bought a few things from Jane.com and have yet to be disappointed. What I love about it is that most of the items come from boutique-type stores, so the clothing is unique. The descriptions of the clothes are also detailed enough, so you know what you are buying, and each item has an excellent sizing chart. You can also go directly to the website that is selling that particular product at a discount, to learn more about their styles and how they run.
And did I mention that it is CHEAP? That is coming from a girl who IS cheap. If you were to go to a boutique and buy some of these items, you would be paying out of your ears (and I am just not willing to do that).
There has to be a catch, right? Well, the ONLY catch is that the deals only last a few DAYS. So if you see something, get it, before it is sold out or the deal ends. I have kept my eye on a few things, walked away (to see if it’s something I REALLY need or just want) and realize there are only just a few left! So act fast (which screams impulse buying, doesn’t it?)
So what’s the best way to “shop” at Jane.com? Go on there thinking about what you need. If you need a sweater, only look for sweaters. Some of my t-shirts had holes or were stained, so I saw t-shirts on sale and got some ($6.99/piece + shipping). Not bad, eh? Speaking of shipping, each place offers different shipping rates, so make sure to look at each description to see what the shipping costs will be.
Not to mention, they also have adorable house decor, jewelry, and baby items that are hard to say no to! I have yet to give in!
If you are looking for an easy way to shop for fun, unique clothing items (and MUCH MUCH more), check out Jane.com! Take my word for it! And don’t become too addicted…
