My Only Aim
What is your aim in life? What are you living for? Who are you living for? When you wake up in the morning, what do you think about? At the end of the day, what are you seeking after?
So often in life, we are running around, trying to figure out who we are, who we want to be, and what God wants us to do. (Insert emoji with girl with hand raised). Me too. I often wonder, “Okay God, what is the purpose of all of this? What’s my purpose?” And every time I ask those questions, I can feel him saying, “Just hang on, I’ve got this.”
Have you wondered what “the task” is? Why we are all here and what we’re supposed to be doing with our lives? Well, my friend, we no longer have to keep looking. Wondering. Questioning. Pondering. The answer is simple and straight from the Bible:
The task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
It’s seriously that simple. But I can feel the hands being raised…but HOW?
All God wants us to do is just talk about him. It doesn’t matter where you work, what you do, etc. Just testify about him – that’s what that means. What has he done in your life? What has he allowed? What has been hard? How has he proven himself faithful? How has he rescued you? How does he show you he loves you each and every day? What blessings has he given you? How has he been sovereign? How do you know he’s in control?
If our hearts are with him, I KNOW that each of us can answer those questions, with some sort of answer. Maybe you feel picked on by God right now… but he is still there. He is still an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving God, who still, to this day, and every day after, has your best interest. Because he’s just God and that’s his character.
So what is your aim in life?
I try to ask myself this every day because that is what helps me keep the faith. That is what keeps me going. That is what keeps me taking another step forward, even when it’s hard. I want to complete the task to it’s fullest, of testifying in every way I can, about God’s grace.
Let’s do this. Let’s make his name known!
