NEW MOVIE: King of Kings
Do you remember the VHS series, “The Greatest Adventure”? As a young kid, we had the movies Noah’s Ark and Moses, where each video featured Derek, Margo, and Moki to some degree. If you’ve seen them, you know exactly what I’m talking about! What classics! Well, those movies clearly made an impact because I still can picture every scene from those videos.
There is a new movie that was recently released in theaters called, “King of Kings“. If you are on social media, you may have seen advertisements for it. The film actually ended up premiering as the #1 faith-based animated opening of all time, became the #1 Korean-made film ever released in the United States, and captured audiences nationwide with a 97% Rotten Tomatoes fan score, earning the coveted Verified Fresh distinction.
The King of Kings brings the life of Jesus Christ to the screen with breathtaking animation, that was inspired by Charles Dickens. The King of Kings features a father telling his son the greatest story ever told, and what begins as a bedtime tale becomes a life-changing journey. Through vivid imagination, the boy walks alongside Jesus, witnessing His miracles, facing His trials, and understanding His ultimate sacrifice, while inviting us to rediscover the enduring power of hope, love, and redemption through the eyes of a child.
After watching it myself, this movie is incredibly POWERFUL. To see and experience the life of Jesus through the eyes of the child, I couldn’t help but cry, as the movie depicted what Jesus went through on the cross for ME. It is rated PG, I believe for the fact that Jesus went through unimaginable pain, but also the sheer power of His hand in other people’s lives. This movie will help your kids understand the life and teachers of Jesus better than any other film I know of. And both parents AND kids alike, will enjoy this movie!
The King of Kings is now streaming on Angel.com and the Angel App and is available to all Angel Guild members.
