Teriffic Tuesday
What a gorgeous day today in St. Joe! Tuesday are typically my day off, and I treasure them! I started my morning by having a cappucino at Panera, with one of my good friends. Though we haven’t gotten together in a little while, it was God’s perfect timing that we reconnected again! It’s amazing how God brings people into your life at the perfect time. Just when I started to feel like I was “alone” with what we were going through, I was reminded today that we aren’t. Though her situation is different, the struggles are much the same. It breaks my heart to hear her story and I think “wow, I don’t think I could ever go through that,” yet God is taking us both through trials we never dreamed of. YET…it’s God’s perfect and good plan for us. She reminded me that we have to be purposeful in living – set goals – live each day with a purpose – to glorify God. It’s easy to dwell on the “tough stuff” and let it bring us down (that’s what I did last week), but God sees that. He knows we struggle – He knows we are going to have bad weeks – but we can’t dwell in that. It was such a refreshing time with her! I’ve realized that Dan and I are surrounded by people who continue to love, pray and support us. God places people in our life for a reason. Today I was reminded why :).
Dan and I were able to eat lunch together at home and play a little Wii Mario Kart before he had to go back – we both LOVE that time! A great break in the day, and just time spent together. Then I sat outside and did part of my Bible study for the week. We are doing Into God’s Word by Anne Graham Lotz (Billy Graham’s wife) and it’s AMAZING! This week it’s on Isaiah 6:1-8. I haven’t finished it yet, but the jist of it is about a wake-up call. What situations has God brought me through to give as a wake up call? And what do we do with that wake up call? Do we completely repent and render our hearts? Am I sorrowful over my sins? So many more good questions, and I can’t wait to finish it! There is a lot of digging into scripture in this study, which I love and which I needed.
Then it was chore time. But for supper, we went out with some good friends of ours. We wanted to try some new restaurants in Benton Harbor. We figured that we can’t talk about the BH people not coming our way (to St. Joe) if we aren’t willing to go there. We were going to go to one restaurant, but it was abandoned and for sale. We were quite shocked to see that, but we found another one and it was great! We enjoy trying new things and it was well worth it!
Now it’s time to prepare for the weekend! I’m leaving tomorrow afternoon to spend the weekend in Borculo and 3 days away til Kate gets married!
Praise God for marriage, for peace, for being a God who cares about each and everything that we go through, and for continually teaching us things that bring us closer to Him!
