God Never Lets Go

Recently we felt like everything was caving in on us – more than we ever imagined or could even think about. We thought finding out about not being able to have our own kids was a big of enough challenge. Then we were challenged hardcore this week with a different issue. BUT, God never lets go! Today we were comforted with the fact that we know we are still supposed to be doing youth ministry, even when it gets really tough. We have been faced with challenges that we weren’t sure we could overcome, but we are – and that’s only b/c of God and His provision. After Dan got home from work today, we just sat on the couch and prayed, thanking God for using us in ways we never expected, for bringing us through the tough times (though they aren’t over), and just for a good day. Today we feel a fire was lit under us again for ministry. By all means we didn’t think we were going to quit ministry – far from that. It’s just that everything seemed to come crashing down on us and we weren’t sure where to turn. But God made it VERY VERY clear to us that He has us doing what He wants us to do :), and I can’t tell you how GOOD it feels to type that! It’s such a relief and honestly, we can sleep better tonight now!

As for the other side of things, today I got a card from someone very special in my life and it just left me in tears. And these were good tears! We already were having a great day, and then God showers us again with letting us know that people are still praying. It’s those random cards and messages that seriously get me through a day sometimes! I have the hardest time looking at young kids b/c my mind right away reminds me that I can’t have that. Yesterday I didn’t cry one bit and it was a good feeling. Today I cried happy tears. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. But as Matthew says, “do not worry about tomorrow for each day has enough trouble of it’s own.” I pulled out the hymnal again to look at the I Surrender All lyrics and they are just beautiful. I feel God has put that on my heart for a reason, so I just want to share them with everyone.

Glory, glory, to His Name!

Aren’t those such convicting, comforting, and trusting words? Those words hit me hard. Humbly at His feet I bow – HUMBLY. That is what this all is causing us to do – humbly bow. We don’t know the whys; we don’t know the hows; we don’t know the whens. We have to throw up our hands and say God, take control. By all means that is so hard for me to do b/c I am not patient and I just want to know. But I look back to almost 2 weeks ago, and look at how my life as changed, and I’m glad I didn’t know then, what I know now!
