We All Have Our Battles
After this last round of “heart issues,” it has made me more aware of those who also fight. Not just medical fights, but emotional battles, mental battles, and yes, even spiritual battles.
I can’t say I am getting any “wiser,” (we all know Kristin can be pretty aloof sometimes), but one thing I have learned is that it doesn’t matter who it is, we all have our battles in life.
This has become apparent to me as I talk with others who have gone through tough situations. I often think that when you are going through a tough time, it opens the door to hear other’s stories of not only victories and triumphs, but what it’s like to walk in the valley. And it sure is hard to not fear any evil, as I feel like you often wait “for the next shoe to drop” as our old pastor often said. And I fully admit, that is what we have felt over this past year.
Having written a book about our story, doing a few speaking engagements, and of course blogging, it has opened the door to share our story in various ways. And each time we open up about it, it brings to light more and more details about why God allowed what He did. Yet it also opens up our hearts, every time, to some of the painful parts of our story too. Looking back into our story’s history isn’t always easy, but we can look back and say “God has been with us.”
And that is what I want to keep reminding those who are fighting their own battles. That God, the God of the universe, the Sovereign God, is in control! He sees EVERYTHING that is going on and never throws up His hands, wondering what to do. He gets it. He’s walked it. He’s been there.
And I’m going to leave this at that. He’s been there. I don’t know what your “battle” is today, but just know that Someone is always willing and waiting to here you out. And love you, when you need it most!
Thank you!
