What’s happening at the Sterks…
I love September! It brings warm days, cool nights, football, youth group, time with Dan, and just ministry. Everyday is different – you never know what you are going to encounter, who needs to talk, or what the day brings until you go to bed at night. And I love it. Though it’s been tougher lately b/c we are dealing with some pretty serious issues, but at the same time, I am constantly reminded that God sees it all going on and knows how it will all end. I was really frustrated and overwhelmed with the situation, but then God provided the people to talk to, who could relate to the situation, and just give comfort. It’s unexplainable how God provides at just the perfect timing! And I know that we are just the instruments God is using to hopefully bring recovery!
Next week I go in for the TEE test on my heart at Spectrum Health. I know a little bit about what’s going to be going on, but actually I’m glad I don’t know everything. When I had my pilonidal cyst removed 2 years ago, I didn’t have a clue what was going to happen b/c it all happened so fast, but I was glad in the end! If I knew that it was going to be a 2-3 month recovery, I would’ve probably stressed. And I know the TEE test doesn’t really have a “recovery” stage, so I’m good with not needing to know everything. I just keep reminding myself that no matter what the results are, it’s God’s will. And if it’s an okay to have kids? We need to make sure that that is what God is calling us to do – and maybe He isn’t. God knows what our life will look like in 20 years and He knows if it will be a big family of our own or a big family that consists of our youth group kids. Either way we are blessed with the opportunity to love. That’s what I want – to love kids.
And another interesting thing in the works…so last year I had called the police b/c I thought our neighbors were dealing drugs. Well, since then, 2 people are not there, with us suspecting that they got arrested. Who knows though. But since last December, there really hasn’t been much action. Well, recently we’ve noticed more random cars coming up to their house and making short stops. Also, a strong odor was coming from their house and it smells like moth balls. I did some research and moth balls are connected with meth. Yeah, not cool. So, I called the police tonight just to tell them what I suspected and they are going to check it out. So who knows if they are continuing their “business” over there, but now the police and drug enforcement can do what they want – it’s kind of out of our hands – we did our part. And the thing is??? It’s a SUPER safe neighborhood with a lot of kids, the police drive through umpteen times a day, and this house is just “out of place.” They are not what we would call your “normal” people for this neighborhood b/c it’s a rental, so hopefully it all gets taken care of! Never a dull moment here :). Don’t worry though, we don’t fear for our life :):).
I apologize for not getting picks up for the Michigan game Kate and I went to…for some reason it won’t let me download them :(. Just fyi
